The Letter to the Philippians 3 V- Seven and Eleven

7 [But] whatever gains I had, these I have come to consider a loss because of Christ. 8 More than that, I even consider everything as a loss because of the supreme good of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have accepted the loss of all things and I consider them so much rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in him, not having any righteousness of my own based on the law but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God, depending on faith 10 to know him and the power of his resurrection and [the] sharing of his sufferings by being conformed to his death, 11 if somehow I may attain the resurrection from the dead.

Philippians 3:7-11 encapsulates a profound journey of transformation and commitment to Christ. In these verses, the Apostle Paul reflects on his past accomplishments and worldly status, declaring that he considers them as loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus. This radical shift emphasizes the essence of surrendering to Jesus, which requires relinquishing a life of excess and the fleeting pleasures of the world, often epitomized by the notion of partying.

When one chooses to surrender to Jesus, it involves a deliberate decision to leave behind a lifestyle that prioritizes self-indulgence and superficial satisfaction. Instead, it opens the door to a life rooted in righteousness and a deeper relationship with God. This was my experience two decades ago when I made the conscious choice to forego the distractions of the world and embrace the truth of Christ. The weight of my past began to lift as I sought to align my life with God’s purposes, realizing that true fulfillment lies not in worldly excess but in the richness of His grace and truth.

Paul’s desire to “know Christ and the power of His resurrection” resonates deeply with my own longing for spiritual growth and transformation. It signifies not just an intellectual understanding of Jesus but an intimate relationship, where His truth guides every decision and action. As I await the hope of resurrection, I am reminded that this journey is not merely about the destination but the meaningful change that occurs along the way. Surrendering to Jesus leads to a life characterized by righteousness, purpose, and a profound connection with the divine—a beautiful exchange of earthly desires for heavenly treasures. Amen.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Be Found in Christ**

In shadows past, I held my gain,

Achievements bright, yet filled with pain.

But now I see, with clearer sight,

What once was gold, now fades from light.

The worldly joys I used to chase,

Are but a loss in love’s embrace.

For knowing Christ, my heart's delight,

Surpasses all, my guiding light.

I count it all as mere disdain,

This life of excess, this fleeting gain.

To follow Him, my soul’s true quest,

In righteousness, I find my rest.

The power of His resurrection calls,

In every trial, His grace enthralls.

I long to know Him, heart and mind,

In Him, I know true purpose I will find.

So I surrender, all laid bare,

To walk with Him, my burdens share.

In unity, in His truth I seek,

In whispered prayers, He makes me meek.

With every step, I rise anew,

A life transformed, a heart made true.

Awaiting hope, that glorious day,

When death is lost, and life’s ballet.

For in His name, I stake my claim,

To live for Him, to spread His fame.

In every breath, in all I do,

I find my joy, my life in You. Amen.
