The Gospel of John 17 Verses 11 thru 19

11 And now I will no longer be in the world, but they are in the world, while I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name that you have given me, so that they may be one just as we are. 12 When I was with them I protected them in your name that you gave me, and I guarded them, and none of them was lost except the son of destruction, in order that the scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I am coming to you. I speak this in the world so that they may share my joy completely. 14 I gave them your word, and the world hated them, because they do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world. 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world but that you keep them from the evil one. 16 They do not belong to the world any more than I belong to the world. 17 Consecrate them in the truth. Your word is truth. 18 As you sent me into the world, so I sent them into the world. 19 And I consecrate myself for them, so that they also may be consecrated in truth.

In John 17:11-19, we find Jesus in the midst of His high priestly prayer, seeking divine protection and guidance for His disciples. He acknowledges that they are not of the world, much like He is not of the world, and this sets the stage for a profound truth: when you believe in Jesus, you are consecrated to the Truth of His Word.

Jesus emphasizes the importance of sanctification through truth. He defines this truth as God’s Word, which is the foundation upon which believers build their lives. To be consecrated means to be set apart, dedicated to a purpose greater than oneself. In believing in Jesus, you are not just accepting a set of beliefs; you are entering into a transformative relationship that leads to eternal life. The eternal life that He speaks of is not only a future promise but a present reality, experienced through a deep connection with Him.

Jesus prays that His followers be protected from the evil one and sanctified in the truth. This highlights the importance of living out one’s faith in a world that often opposes that very truth. When you are rooted in the teachings of Jesus, you gain the strength to navigate the challenges and temptations that may arise. The truth equips you with discernment, guiding you to make choices aligned with God’s will.

As believers, our lives should reflect the love and grace of Jesus, serving as a beacon of hope in a troubled world. By accepting His truth and being set apart, we not only safeguard our spiritual integrity but also invite others to experience the transformative power of the Gospel. When you live according to Jesus' words, you embody the essence of life eternal. Amen.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Your Word is Truth**

In quiet tones, the Savior prays,

For those who walk in faith today,

“Protect them, Father, keep them near,

In truth and love, cast out all fear.”

Set apart from worldly strife,

To bear the gift of eternal life,

As You sent Me, I send them forth,

Their hearts ignite with holy worth.

Sanctified by Your sacred Word,

In every soul, let Truth be heard,

A beacon shining in the night,

Reflecting hope and purest light.

Though trials come, let none despair,

For in Your grace, we find our share,

United in a purpose grand,

Together, Lord, we’ll take a stand.

With hearts entwined, we seek Your face,

In love and unity embrace,

As we believe, consecrate our way,

To share Your life, our peace, our stay. Amen.
