The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 16 Verse One thru Ten

1 He reached (also) Derbe and Lystra where there was a disciple named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek. 2 The brothers in Lystra and Iconium spoke highly of him, 3 and Paul wanted him to come along with him. On account of the Jews of that region, Paul had him circumcised, for they all knew that his father was a Greek. 4 As they traveled from city to city, they handed on to the people for observance the decisions reached by the apostles and presbyters in Jerusalem. 5 Day after day the churches grew stronger in faith and increased in number. 6 They traveled through the Phrygian and Galatian territory because they had been prevented by the holy Spirit from preaching the message in the province of Asia.7 When they came to Mysia, they tried to go on into Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus did not allow them, 8 so they crossed through Mysia and came down to Troas. 9 During [the] night Paul had a vision. A Macedonian stood before him and implored him with these words, “Come over to Macedonia and help us.” 10 When he had seen the vision, we sought passage to Macedonia at once, concluding that God had called us to proclaim the good news to them.

Acts 16:1-10 narrates an inspiring journey of Paul and his companions, illustrating the profound impact of surrendering to God’s will. In this passage, Paul meets Timothy, a young disciple, and together they embark on a mission to share the Gospel. They initially attempt to preach in various regions, but the Holy Spirit intervenes, guiding them away from certain areas. This responsive obedience to divine direction illustrates the importance of being attuned to God’s leading.

The pivotal moment comes in verse 9, where Paul receives a vision of a man from Macedonia urging him to come and help. This dream serves as a divine call, prompting immediate action. Paul’s willingness to listen and act upon this revelation exemplifies the transformative power of surrendering our plans to God. Just as Paul discerned the Spirit’s guidance in a moment of stillness and vulnerability, so too can we expect to receive visions and insights from God in our lives—whether through dreams, desires, or subtly encountered moments of clarity.

When we relinquish our agendas to embrace God’s purpose, we allow space for His plans to unfold. It is through this surrender that we tune our hearts and minds to recognize the nudge of the Holy Spirit. Our everyday experiences become opportunities to engage with God’s will, fostering a sense of divine direction in mundane moments.

May we be inspired by Paul’s example to seek God earnestly, trusting that He will reveal His will to us. Just as Paul acted upon the urgent call from Macedonia, we too must be ready to step out in faith when we receive divine prompts. Let us surrender our plans, for in doing so, we open our lives to the extraordinary ways God desires to work through us. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Day Nine for Ivana Barrios for cancer. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

05-09-2026 Acts 16 v0110

**During The Night Paul Had A Vision**

In the land where hearts were bold,

A tale of faith begins to unfold,

In the vibrant towns of ancient grace,

Paul and Silas set forth to embrace.

From Lystra's path, a young man they find,

Timothy, steadfast, with spirit aligned,

Whose mother believed, a Jewess of name,

With a heart full of fervor, igniting the flame.

With courage and love, they traveled as one,

To cities and regions beneath the same sun,

Yet a voice whispered soft, guiding their feet,

For some doors were closed, though the journey was sweet.

Through Phrygia's fields, and Galatia's hold,

The Spirit's direction was purposeful and bold,

He spoke not a word, but led them away,

From places unbidden, where silence did stay.

Then at nightfall, a vision appeared,

A man from Macedonia, the way was made clear,

"Come over to help us," the call rang so loud,

In dreams and in spirit, they stood unbowed.

Resolved in their hearts, they crossed the great sea,

To share the Good News, to set captives free,

In the name of the Father, the Spirit and the Son,

In Acts of devotion, their mission had begun.

So let us remember this journey we share,

The courage to follow, the call to declare,

From Lystra to lands where the gospel will flow,

Together, in faith, we’re called to bestow. Amen.
