The Letter of Jude Chapter 1 Verse 17 thru 25
17 But you, beloved, remember the words spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18 for they told you, “In [the] last time there will be scoffers who will live according to their own godless desires.” 19 These are the ones who cause divisions; they live on the natural plane, devoid of the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, build yourselves up in your most holy faith; pray in the holy Spirit. 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God and wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 On those who waver, have mercy; 23 save others by snatching them out of the fire; on others have mercy with fear, abhorring even the outer garment stained by the flesh. 24 To the one who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you unblemished and exultant, in the presence of his glory, 25 to the only God, our savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord be glory, majesty, power, and authority from ages past, now, and for ages to come. Amen.
In the Book of Jude, verses 17-25 offer a powerful exhortation for believers, reminding them to remain steadfast in their faith amidst the challenges posed by false teachings and deceptive influences. The passage begins with a call to remember the predictions of the apostles, who warned of individuals who would distort the truth for their gain. This context serves as a backdrop for Jude’s urgent message: believers must keep themselves in the love of God.
To "keep yourselves in the love of God" involves an active and intentional pursuit of a relationship with the Lord. It requires a commitment to staying grounded in Scripture, prayer, and fellowship with other believers. In doing so, we cultivate an environment where our faith can flourish, even as we navigate a world filled with uncertainty and strife. The call to wait for “the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life” is a reminder of our hope beyond the present moment. This waiting is not passive; it is filled with anticipation and a deep longing for the fulfillment of God’s promises.
Jude encourages us to support and uplift one another, especially those who struggle in their faith. By extending compassion and guidance to others, we grow together in God’s love. The passage culminates in a doxology that emphasizes God’s glory and power, affirming that He is able to keep us from stumbling and to present us blameless before His presence.
As we reflect on Jude's message, let us encourage one another to remain vigilant, keeping ourselves in the love of God while eagerly awaiting the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. In doing so, we affirm our hope in the eternal life He promises to those who trust Him. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Authority From Ages Past**
In days of old, the prophets spoke,
Words ringing true, like a solemn yoke,
Remember now, dear hearts, take heed,
Of those who scoff, with hearts of greed.
In their last days, they'll come with sneers,
Mocking the truth, feeding on fears,
Living for self, their passions ablaze,
Chasing the fleeting, in perilous ways.
But you, beloved, hold fast to the light,
Build up your faith, in the day and the night,
Pray in the Spirit, let your hearts swell,
Keep yourselves in love, where the Savior's grace dwells.
Await the promise, eternal and grand,
Mercy and peace, from your Savior's hand,
For even as darkness surrounds the way,
His love will guide you, come what may.
So cling to the truth, let your hearts shine bright,
In the face of the scoffers, emerge as the light.
For though trials may come and shadows may fall,
In the arms of your God, you will stand tall. Amen.
