The 1st Letter of Peter Chapter 3 Verse 15 thru 18
Beloved: Sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who asks you for a reason for your hope, but do it with gentleness and reverence, keeping your conscience clear, so that, when you are maligned, those who defame your good conduct in Christ may themselves be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing good, if that be the will of God, than for doing evil. For Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the sake of the unrighteous, that he might lead you to God. Put to death in the flesh, he was brought to life in the Spirit.
In 1 Peter 3:15-18, the apostle Paul calls believers to embody a steadfast hope and a clear conscience in the face of adversity. “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have,” he writes. This instruction serves not only as a call to evangelism but also as a reminder that our lives must reflect the love and teachings of Jesus Christ.
When we keep our consciences clear by living righteously and avoiding evil, we allow our conduct to bear witness to our faith. In times of challenge and persecution, our actions can speak louder than words. A life rooted in goodness and integrity shines brightly as a testament to the transformative power of Jesus. As Peter emphasizes, living such a life assures us we will not be put to shame for our beliefs but will stand firm in our conviction.
Moreover, the context of these verses reminds us of the suffering that Jesus endured for our sake. He suffered for our sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, bringing us to God. This ultimate act of love illustrates the foundation of our hope, empowering us to face trials with courage. When we share the love of Christ, we participate in that same legacy, giving others a glimpse of the hope that sustains us.
As we navigate life’s obstacles, let us remember that our good conduct can inspire others and point them to Jesus. Trust in His love and embody His grace, knowing that we will never be put to shame for our hope in Him. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Happy Mother’s Day Betty Pitts. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Better To Suffer For Doing Good Than Doing Evil**
With hearts prepared, let courage rise,
In hope's embrace, let truth be wise.
For Peter speaks with wisdom clear,
In gentle tones, we need not fear.
When questioned deep, let answers flow,
With grace adorned, let kindness grow.
In confident faith, our stance we take,
For in our hearts, His love won't break.
Beneath the weight of trials severe,
Christ suffered first, our path made clear.
He bore our sins upon the tree,
To bring us hope, to set us free.
So when we stand, though scorn may come,
We find our strength, our battle won.
In spirit bold, let us proclaim,
The power of His holy name.
For Christ, the just, through unjust strife,
Brought us to God, restored our life.
In every heart where faith ignites,
The promise shines, the truth ignites.
Thus, let us live as lights to be,
With love that flows, our souls set free.
In every word and deed we share,
May others see Him shining there. Amen.
