The Gospel of John Chapter 6 Verses 52 thru 58
52 The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?” 53 Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. 54 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. 55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.57 Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever.”
In John 6:52-58, the discourse on the Bread of Life reaches a profound climax, underscoring the significance of the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Jesus states, “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.” This passage challenges us to grapple with the mystery of the Eucharist, emphasizing that partaking in this sacred meal is essential for eternal life. Our spiritual nourishment comes from acknowledging and receiving Christ's body and blood, a theme that resonates deeply with Catholic belief and practice.
This year has been particularly momentous for the Catholic Church, as we witness the election of our new Pope, Leo XIV, the first American to hold the papacy. His election is not only a profound moment in church history but also a joyous affirmation of the global nature of our faith. Pope Leo XIV’s commitment to the Real Presence reflects the richness of our tradition and the importance of the Eucharist in the modern world. With his leadership, we are reminded that the transformative power of Christ's presence in the Eucharist can heal divisions and inspire unity among believers.
As we meditate on the message of John 6:52-58, we can celebrate both the spiritual nourishment we receive through the Eucharist and the hope brought forth by a new papacy. Let us pray for Pope Leo XIV, embracing his vision for the Church and our shared mission to witness to the Real Presence of Christ in our lives. In this moment of excitement and history, we humbly affirm our faith: Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Kairos prison ministry day seven. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Whoever Eats this Bread Will Live Forever**
In shadows deep, the crowd stood still,
As Jesus spoke with power and will,
“Unless you eat of my flesh and blood,
You cannot find life, you cannot stand proud.”
With faith and doubt, their hearts did ache,
“Who can accept this?” their whispers quake.
Yet in His words, a mystery unfolds,
A promise of life, a love to behold.
“I am the bread, come down from above,
Through this sacred feast, know my endless love.
Eat of this body, drink of this wine,
In each shared moment, our lives intertwine.”
Eternal life, in Him we find,
A gift so precious, for all mankind.
In unity we gather, our spirits soar,
In the Real Presence, forevermore.
So let us heed this sacred call,
To partake in His life, the grace for us all.
In John's deep message, His truth we embrace,
Pray for Pope Leo 14th in communion with him, we find His grace. Amen.
