The Letter of Ezekiel Chapter 37 Verse 12 thru 14
12 Therefore, prophesy and say to them: Thus says the Lord GOD: Look! I am going to open your graves; I will make you come up out of your graves, my people, and bring you back to the land of Israel. 13 You shall know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and make you come up out of them, my people! 14 I will put my spirit in you that you may come to life, and I will settle you in your land. Then you shall know that I am the LORD. I have spoken; I will do it—oracle of the LORD.
Ezekiel 37:12-14 is a powerful passage that speaks to the hope and restoration promised by God to His people. This prophecy occurs within the context of God’s message to Israel, who found themselves in a state of despair and exile. In these verses, God instructs Ezekiel to prophesy to the dead bones, symbolizing the hopelessness of Israel. He declares that He will open the graves and bring His people back to life, illustrating His power to revive and restore.
This imagery of dry bones coming to life is emblematic of the spiritual resurrection that comes through faith. As God breathes life into these bones, He is portraying the overarching theme of salvation embodied in Jesus Christ. Just as God promised to restore Israel, He offers us a similar promise through Christ. When we accept Jesus as our Savior, we are granted eternal life and the assurance of salvation.
The act of believing in Jesus allows us to experience a personal resurrection from our spiritual deadness. Just as the breath of God filled the bones and gave them life, the Holy Spirit indwells us, transforming our hearts and renewing our spirits. This divine transformation illustrates the profound truth that, through faith in Christ, we are no longer bound by sin and death but are given a new identity as children of God.
Ultimately, Ezekiel 37:12-14 not only speaks to the physical restoration of Israel but also serves as a prophecy that points to the spiritual renewal available to all believers through Jesus Christ. Embracing this gift of salvation leads us to the eternal life God promises to all who believe in Him. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. **You Shall Know That I Am The Lord**
In a valley, dry and wide,
Bones lay scattered, hope denied,
But from the depths, a voice would call,
"Rise again, you shattered, fall!"
With breath of life, the Spirit came,
Each bone united, end to shame,
A mighty army, once forlorn,
Restored by grace, new life reborn.
"Behold," He said, "I’ll bring you home,
From death to life, no more to roam,
In hearts of stone, I’ll place my word,
My people rise, their prayers heard."
So trust the promise, let faith not wane,
In darkest valleys, joy will reign,
For from the dust, new life will flow,
In every soul, His spirit's glow. Amen.
