The Gospel of John 14 Verses 26 thru 29

26 ”The Advocate, the holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name—he will teach you everything and remind you of all that [I] told you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give it to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid. 28 You heard me tell you, ‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you this before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe.”

In John 14:26-29, Jesus provides profound comfort and assurance to His disciples, emphasizing the role of the Holy Spirit as their Advocate. He promises that the Spirit will teach them all things and remind them of Jesus’ teachings. This passage reflects a deep truth: while the world often offers superficial peace and fleeting joy, it can never provide the lasting assurance that comes from knowing the truth.

Jesus distinguishes between the peace that He gives and the peace that the world offers. The worldly peace is often a temporary balm, rooted in circumstances and human understanding, which can easily crumble in the face of adversity. In contrast, the peace from Christ is a profound tranquility that transcends our understanding, anchored in divine truth and unwavering hope.

As we navigate our lives, it’s crucial to remember that the world will frequently present us with an illusion of rightness derived from falsehoods and fears. It seeks to distract us with a façade of stability, but ultimately, what it offers is evidence of wrong concealed as right. This is why we must anchor ourselves in the truth of Christ, as articulated in His teachings and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

In a chaotic world, we are called to seek the true joy and peace found only in a relationship with God. This deep-seated joy doesn’t depend on external circumstances but is a fruit of the Spirit—one that is nurturing and sustaining. As we embrace the teachings of Jesus, let us lean into the comfort of the Holy Spirit and reject the counterfeit peace that the world offers. Through Him, we find peace, joy, and hope that endure, regardless of life’s trials. Amen.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**He Will Teach You Everything**

In shadows deep, when doubts arise,

He speaks of peace, a sacred prize.

The Advocate, our hearts He will fill,

With truths He whispers, calm and still.

Though the world claims to bring delight,

Its fleeting joys fade in the night.

Yet in His words, our spirits soar,

With love that lasts forevermore.

He teaches us what we should know,

As rivers of His grace eternally flow.

In every trial, we’re not alone,

For in His presence, we find our home.

So take His peace, let not fear sway,

In Christ, our hearts will find the way.

For joy resides in Him, our King,

In every moment, let us sing. Amen.
