The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 11 V- 25 and 27
25 At that time Jesus said in reply, “I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. 26 Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. 27 All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”
Matthew 11:25-27 reads: “At that time Jesus declared, ‘I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.’”
In these verses, Jesus emphasizes the importance of humility and openness, characteristics exemplified by children. However, being "childlike" is often misunderstood. It doesn’t imply acting like adolescents, governed by caprice and immaturity. Instead, it calls us to embody the heart of a child—full of grace, compassion, and kindness. Children have an innate ability to trust, love unconditionally, and see the world through a lens of wonder and purity.
When we embrace a childlike approach to our faith, we open ourselves to the profound truths of God’s love and grace. This perspective compels us to view others not through the eyes of judgment or cynicism but as souls in need of salvation. Love, in its truest form, seeks to uplift, empower, and recognize the inherent worth in every individual.
God reveals Himself to those who approach Him with an open heart, much like a child reaching out to a parent. As we cultivate this spirit of childlike faith, may we also embrace compassion, kindness, and a profound respect for each person’s journey. In doing so, we reflect the love of Christ that sees beyond our flaws and recognizes the beauty of redemption. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Hidden From the Wise Revealed to the Childlike**
O Father, Lord of earth and sky,
Your majesty is vast and wide;
Yet in the humble, low, and shy,
Your truths of love and grace abide.
You hide the wisdom from the proud,
But to the child, you speak aloud,
The thinking wise in worldly lore;
A heart unguarded seeks no more.
In tender faith, we come as small,
In kindness wrapped, we heed the call,
With open hearts, like children’s trust;
To love each soul—compassion’s must.
So let us walk where mercy leads,
For in Your grace, our hearts are freed,
In simple ways, our spirits soar;
To know and love forevermore. Amen.
