The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 13 Verse 13 thru 25
13 From Paphos, Paul and his companions set sail and arrived at Perga in Pamphylia. But John left them and returned to Jerusalem. 14 They continued on from Perga and reached Antioch in Pisidia. On the sabbath they entered (into) the synagogue and took their seats. 15 After the reading of the law and the prophets, the synagogue officials sent word to them, “My brothers, if one of you has a word of exhortation for the people, please speak.”16 So Paul got up, motioned with his hand, and said, “Fellow Israelites and you others who are God-fearing, listen. 17 The God of this people Israel chose our ancestors and exalted the people during their sojourn in the land of Egypt. With uplifted arm he led them out of it 18 and for about forty years he put up with them in the desert. 19 When he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance 20 at the end of about four hundred and fifty years. After these things he provided judges up to Samuel [the] prophet. 21 Then they asked for a king. God gave them Saul, son of Kish, a man from the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 Then he removed him and raised up David as their king; of him he testified, ‘I have found David, son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will carry out my every wish.’ 23 From this man’s descendants God, according to his promise, has brought to Israel a savior, Jesus. 24 John heralded his coming by proclaiming a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel; 25 and as John was completing his course, he would say, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. Behold, one is coming after me; I am not worthy to unfasten the sandals of his feet.”
In Acts 13:13-25, we find Paul and his companions embarking on a significant missionary journey, a moment that underscores the transformative power of the Gospel. As they travel to Antioch in Pisidia, Paul seizes the opportunity to address the synagogue, appealing to the God-fearing listeners who are well-acquainted with the Scriptures. He outlines the history of Israel, tracing God’s faithfulness from the Exodus, through the judges, to the establishment of kings, culminating in the anointing of David. This historical narrative sets the stage for the revelation of Jesus Christ as the Savior.
Paul’s message emphasizes that Jesus is the fulfillment of the promise God made to their ancestors. He describes Jesus’ lineage—from David to the miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit—and heralds His coming as the Messiah. The Pharisees and leaders had long awaited a Savior, and Paul’s proclamation is clear: Jesus, though initially rejected, is the very one who brings salvation—the embodiment of God’s love and grace.
For those who are God-fearing, Paul’s words cut deeply, inviting a response. He urges his listeners to believe in Jesus, the one who was raised from the dead and offers forgiveness of sins to all who accept Him. This message of hope and redemption is not just for the Jews; it extends to all who seek God.
In this passage, we are reminded that the call to faith is universal. If you are seeking truth and are God-fearing, take to heart Paul’s powerful exhortation. Jesus is the Savior of the world, and all you need to do is believe in Him. Embrace this truth today, and let His grace transform your life. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Day Five for Marco’s business. Novena Day for Ivanna Barrios for cancer. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**You Others Who Are God-Fearing Listen**
In ancient days, on a journey bold,
Paul and his companions, their stories told,
From Cyprus they sailed, their hearts afire,
To Pisidian Antioch, their spirits higher.
Through the synagogues, the Word was shared,
A message of grace, for all who dared.
In those cherished halls, the Torah read,
But in Christ's name, new life was spread.
They met rejection, yet pressed on still,
"Brothers, listen!" Paul called with zeal and will.
He spoke of the story, from promise to throne,
Of Israel’s past, and God’s love shown.
"From Egypt's chains, our forebears fled,
Through judges and kings, the path they tread.
But hear of David, a shepherd’s heart,
In his lineage, God's own Son would start."
The echoes of history, both solemn and grand,
Of God's mighty hand, and His steadfast plan.
From the birth to the tomb, the Savior's plight,
In shadows and darkness, came forth the Light.
So stand with us now, and hear the call,
In the tale of salvation, there's hope for all.
For though they may wander, though storms may rage,
In faith, the light shines, transcending every age.
Thus, in Acts we find a thread so divine,
From promise to people, through every line.
A song of redemption, a hope that won't cease,
In Christ, let us gather and find our peace. Amen.
