The Acts of the Apostles Chapter 12/13 Verse 25/ 1 thru 5
25 After Barnabas and Saul completed their relief mission, they returned to Jerusalem, taking with them John, who is called Mark. 1 Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Symeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who was a close friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” 3 Then, completing their fasting and prayer, they laid hands on them and sent them off. 4 So they, sent forth by the holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and from there sailed to Cyprus. 5 When they arrived in Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. They had John also as their assistant.
Acts 13:1-5 presents a pivotal moment in the early church as the Holy Spirit prompts the sending of Barnabas and Saul (later known as Paul) for a mission that would expand the Gospel's reach. In this passage, we see a gathering of prophets and teachers in Antioch, where prayer and fasting create a profound environment of worship and discernment. The Holy Spirit speaks clearly, indicating a divine purpose: to set apart Barnabas and Saul for a specific mission. This moment highlights the importance of community, intentionality, and divine guidance in fulfilling God's will.
As readers reflect on these verses, it’s essential to realize that the call to mission is not reserved for a select few. Each person who calls upon the name of Jesus can also be sent forth by the Holy Spirit in their daily lives. God’s grace is accessible to all, inviting believers to step into their unique calling. Whether through our workplaces, families, or communities, the Spirit can work through us to accomplish His purpose.
We, too, can be instruments of God's will, sharing His love and grace with those around us. This calling doesn’t always manifest in dramatic ways; often, it’s in the everyday acts of kindness, service, and love that we fulfill our divine purpose. Just as Barnabas and Saul were obedient to the Spirit’s leading, we can seek His guidance in all we do.
Let us therefore remember that, empowered by the Holy Spirit, we can fulfill the Great Commission in our lives. Embrace this truth and step out in faith, knowing that God's forgiving grace goes before us, enabling us to carry out His will and to carry our Cross Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Day Four for Marco’s business. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20
04-29-2026 Acts 12/13 v250105
**They Proclaimed The Word Of God**
In the heart of Antioch, a gathering so bright,
Prophets and teachers, a divine, sacred light.
Barnabas and Saul, with Simeon and Niger,
Lucius and Manaen, their spirits grow brighter.
Through prayer and fasting, they sought the Lord's face,
The Spirit spoke, guiding their holy embrace.
“Set apart for me these servants of grace,
To share my good news, to every place.”
With hands laid upon them, a blessing bestowed,
They were sent forth, on the mission they strode.
Through the winds of the Spirit, their journey took flight,
Into lands unknown, bearing truth as their light.
They sailed unto Cyprus, where the sun warmly glows,
Proclaiming salvation wherever life flows.
In towns full of heartache, they brought hope anew,
With wisdom and courage, they boldly broke through.
From Antioch fragrant with faith's fervent song,
To the ends of the earth where the lost all belong.
Their voices, like echoes, through valleys did ring,
Unfolding the story of Christ, our true Eternal King.
So let us remember, in our heart's quiet plea,
To seek and to listen, as they did, you and me.
For each of us carries a message to share,
In the spirit of love, let us boldly declare. The Name of Jesus! Amen.
