The Book of Acts Chapter 3 Verses 19 thru 26

19 Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away, 20 and that the Lord may grant you times of refreshment and send you the Messiah already appointed for you, Jesus, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of universal restoration of which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from of old. 22 For Moses said: ‘A prophet like me will the Lord, your God, raise up for you from among your own kinsmen; to him you shall listen in all that he may say to you. 23 Everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be cut off from the people.’ 24 Moreover, all the prophets who spoke, from Samuel and those afterwards, also announced these days. 25 You are the children of the prophets and of the covenant that God made with your ancestors when he said to Abraham, ‘In your offspring all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ 26 For you first, God raised up his servant and sent him to bless you by turning each of you from your evil ways.”

In Acts 3:19-26, the Apostle Peter passionately addresses the crowd, urging them to repent and turn to God. He emphasizes a profound truth: the prophets of the Old Testament foretold the coming of the Messiah—Jesus Christ—who rose from the dead as a ransom for our sins. This moment is crucial in understanding the fulfillment of God's promise to His people, as the prophets spoke of a Redeemer who would take upon Himself the weight of humanity's transgressions. The narrative accentuates the continuity between the old covenant and the new, revealing God’s plan of salvation through Jesus.

Peter's call to repentance is an invitation to embrace this truth. He assures the people that by turning away from their sins and believing in Christ, they will experience the refreshing of their souls. Acts 3:19 states, “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out.” This wipes the slate clean, providing a fresh start—a profound expression of God's mercy and grace.

If you embrace this message, you too can find eternal life. This is not just a distant promise; it is a living reality available to each of us. By believing in Jesus, you are offered peace that surpasses all understanding—a peace grounded in the knowledge that your sins are forgiven, and you are reconciled with God.

As we reflect on these powerful words, let us remember that the Old Testament prophets were not simply speaking of a distant hope but were laying the foundation for the ultimate revelation in Christ. Their messages resonate through the ages, reminding us that believing in Him opens the door to a joyful and eternal relationship with our Creator. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. Ephesians 6:17-20

04-24-25 Acts 3 v1926 Repent and believe in Prophets of Old

**Repent and believe in Prophets of Old**

In the heart of the city, by the temple so grand,

Peter preached so boldly, a message in hand.

“Repent and return, let your hearts be made whole,

For the Savior is risen to redeem every soul.”

The prophets spoke fervently, ages ago,

Of a promised Messiah who'd come down below.

He bore our transgressions, our burdens He’d bear,

Risen from death, God’s answer to prayer.

With joy in his voice, the good news he shared,

“Believe in the One who for you deeply cared.

For your sins He was slain, a ransom divine,

Eternal life granted, through His love we shine.”

As the crowd held their breath, their hearts began to race,

Could this truly be mercy, could they see His face?

The promise of peace, beyond all measure,

In Christ, the Messiah, their ultimate treasure.

“Oh, come, weary souls, let your burdens be laid,

In the arms of the Savior, no fear will invade.

For in His resurrection, hope springs anew,

The gift of salvation is freely for you.”

So let us unite, in this life we embrace,

Following the calling, shining bright with His grace.

For the prophets foretold, and Peter proclaimed,

In believing, we’re changed Salvation we have claimed. Amen.
