Hebrews Chapter 8 V- 7 and 12
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, no place would have been sought for a second one. 8 But he finds fault with them and says:* “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will conclude a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. 9 It will not be like the covenant I made with their fathers the day I took them by the hand to lead them forth from the land of Egypt; for they did not stand by my covenant and I ignored them, says the Lord. 10 But this is the covenant I will establish with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds and I will write them upon their hearts. I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 11 And they shall not teach, each one his fellow citizen and kinsman, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all shall know me, from least to greatest. 12 For I will forgive their evildoing and remember their sins no more.”
Hebrews 8:7-12 presents a profound message about the new covenant that God establishes with His people. The passage highlights the inadequacy of the old covenant, emphasizing that if it had been faultless, there would have been no need for a new one. This new covenant, prophesied in Jeremiah 31, reveals God's intention to write His laws on our hearts and minds, transforming our relationship with Him.
In verses 10-12, God promises to be merciful to our unrighteousness and to remember our sins no more. This assurance is not just a mere declaration; it signifies a deep, relational change between God and humanity. Once we surrender to Christ's holy will, we are embraced by this new covenant. Our sins are tempered, meaning that they are no longer the defining characteristics of our identity. Instead, we are seen through the lens of Christ's righteousness.
This transformation invites us to reflect on the magnitude of God's grace. It reminds us that our past mistakes do not determine our future. In surrendering to Christ, we step into a new identity, liberated from the chains of our sins. The promise of forgiveness and renewal is a vital aspect of our walk with God. It encourages us to embrace His mercy, knowing that He does not hold our sins against us but instead calls us into a deeper relationship with Him.
As you meditate on Hebrews 8:7-12, let it serve as a reminder of the beauty of surrendering to Christ. In His mercy, our sins are tempered no more, and we are invited to live in the fullness of His grace. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**I Will Forgive Their Evildoing**
In days of old, the law was laid,
Yet hearts grew weary, hope delayed.
For fault was found in hearts of stone,
A need arose for grace to be shown.
Behold the promise, God declares,
A covenant new, with love that repairs.
His laws inscribed on hearts so free,
In tender mercy, He calls to thee.
No more the burden of sin's heavy toll,
For in His grace, He makes us whole.
“Remember your sins, I shall not,” He said,
In Christ, our Shepherd, we’re lovingly led.
Forgiven and free, our spirits soar,
In His embrace, we’re lost no more.
A people renewed, with hope in sight,
Guided by love, in truth and light.
So let us walk in the path He’s shown,
With hearts of flesh, His love has grown.
In every moment, let gratitude reign,
For in His new covenant, we’ll never be the same. Amen.
