The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 7 Verse 6 thru 14
6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces. 7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Which one of you would hand his son a stone when he asks for a loaf of bread, 10 or a snake when he asks for a fish? 11 If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good things to those who ask him. 12 “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets. 13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. 14 How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.
Matthew 7:6-14 presents a pivotal teaching from Jesus regarding discernment, humility, and the pursuit of life’s ultimate truths. In these verses, Jesus warns us not to cast pearls before swine, emphasizing the importance of valuing spiritual truths and sharing them wisely. Often, the principles of faith can be misunderstood or dismissed by those unprepared to receive them. This invitation to discernment leads us to the metaphor of the narrow gate and the constricted road, which Jesus describes as the path leading to life.
In verses 13-14, He calls us to enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad the road that leads to destruction. This powerful imagery serves as a reminder that the journey of faith is not always easy. It requires submission and surrender to Jesus as our Savior, a decision that often goes against the prevailing currents of our time. The road that leads to eternal life is indeed narrow and constricted, challenging us to reject the more popular yet destructive paths of the world.
While it may seem daunting, the message is one of hope. Those who choose to follow Christ, embracing His teachings and surrendering their lives to Him, become part of the "few" who find this precious pathway. This isn't about a selective few based on merit, but rather about the transformative love and grace that Jesus offers to all who respond to His invitation.
As you reflect on these verses, remember that each step taken in faith, guided by love and truth, is a step toward the narrow gate. Embrace the journey, trusting that surrender to Christ leads to a fulfilling life, filled with purpose and joy. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Day Five for James employment. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Those Who Find It Are Few**
In the garden of wisdom, a lesson we see,
In the words of a teacher from Galilee.
“Do not cast pearls before swine,” he speaks,
For the sacred is precious, not meant for the meek.
Discernment is golden, and judgment is wise,
To guard what is holy from scornful eyes.
Seek not the unworthy, for they cannot know,
The depth of the treasures that Love seeks to show.
Ask with a heart full of hope in your chest,
And the heavens will answer, for you are the best.
Knock on the door that gives life to the soul,
For the promise of grace is the true, lofty goal.
The way is constricted, a narrow, steep climb,
Yet the path leads to life, eternal and prime.
As wanderers search through the dim and the dark,
Let the gatekeepers guide with the light of a spark.
Straight paths may seem hard, and the crowd often sways,
But goodness will flourish if followed always.
For the fruit of the tree, be it thorny or pure,
Is shown by its harvest, in love it must endure.
So heed the sweet calling of wisdom's embrace,
With each step and each choice, let compassion be your grace.
For in the wide world where choices abound,
The narrow path leads to where love can be found. Amen.
