The Gospel of Luke Ch 15 Verse One thru Ten
1 The tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to listen to him, 2 but the Pharisees and scribes began to complain, saying, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” 3 So to them he addressed this parable. 4 “What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it? 5 And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy 6 and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance. 8 “Or what woman having ten coins and losing one would not light a lamp and sweep the house, searching carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she does find it, she calls together her friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found the coin that I lost.’ 10 In just the same way, I tell you, there will be rejoicing among the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
In Luke 15:1-10, we encounter the parables of the Lost Sheep and the Lost Coin, which vividly illustrate God's extravagant love and joy in seeking out the lost. These stories speak to the heart of the Gospel, emphasizing that every individual holds immeasurable value in the eyes of our Creator. Jesus tells of a shepherd who leaves his ninety-nine sheep to search for the one that has gone astray. With relentless love, he seeks, finds, and rejoices over that single lost sheep as if it were the most precious treasure in the world. Similarly, a woman who loses a coin turns her house upside down, seeking diligently until she finds it. Both parables culminate in a celebration—an invitation to rejoice, for what was lost is now found.
These passages remind us of the profound truth that Heaven rejoices when a sinner repents and turns to Jesus as their Savior. The joy is not merely a superficial sentiment, but a deep, resounding celebration that echoes throughout the heavenly realms. Each act of repentance is met with open arms and a heart full of compassion, affirming the infinite worth of every soul.
For anyone who might feel lost or far from God, these verses are a gentle reminder that His love knows no bounds. No matter where you have wandered or how far you have strayed, the moment you call on the name of Jesus, there is a heavenly celebration in your honor. Heaven rejoices in your return home, for your life is invaluable to God. You are uniquely created, loved, and cherished. May we always remember that God's grace is ready to meet us, and in our repentance, we find joy—not just for ourselves but for all of Heaven. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Rejoicing Over One Sinner That Repents
In a crowd where whispers softly weave,
Tax collectors, sinners, hearts that grieve,
Drawn near to a voice that speaks of love,
A shepherd's heart, as gentle as a dove.
“Why welcome these lost souls?" the Pharisees moan,
Yet in this gathering, grace brightly shone.
For each life within this sacred space,
Is a spark, a treasure, a reflection of grace.
A shepherd leaves ninety-nine in the fold,
To seek the one wanderer, precious and bold.
Through valleys of doubt, and shadows of sin,
He searches with hope; he longs to bring in.
When at last he finds it, oh, joy unmasked!
He lifts it on shoulders, a love unsurpassed.
And in heaven’s halls, a celebration ignites,
For every lost soul that returns to the light.
Like the woman who searched, with a lamp in her hand,
For a coin that she lost, a part of her land,
She sweeps through the darkness, her heart set ablaze,
In the quest to recover, she sings of His praise.
When at last she discovers her treasure once more,
Her joy spills like rivers, her heart starts to soar.
“Rejoice with me, friends! For what was once lost,
Is found in the light, is restored at no cost.”
Oh, the depth of this message, the beauty it beams,
That in every lost heart, there’s hope for our dreams.
For the love of the Father knows no bounds or ends,
In the shade of His mercy, all souls are His friends.
So let’s join the chorus, the laughter, the cheer,
For every lost one, redemption is near.
In the stories of Luke, a call to embrace,
The lost and the found, in the shade of His grace. Amen.
