The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 24 Verse 42 thru 51

42 Therefore, stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come. 43 Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into. 44 So too, you also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come. 45 “Who, then, is the faithful and prudent servant, whom the master has put in charge of his household to distribute to them their food at the proper time? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master on his arrival finds doing so. 47 Amen, I say to you, he will put him in charge of all his property. 48 But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is long delayed,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and eat and drink with drunkards, 50 the servant’s master will come on an unexpected day and at an unknown hour 51 and will punish him severely and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be wailing and grinding of teeth.

In Matthew 24:42-51, Jesus emphasizes the importance of vigilance and readiness for His return, highlighting the uncertainty of the timing of this event. He instructs His followers to "watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming." This powerful admonition serves as a reminder to all believers that we should continuously prepare ourselves for the coming of the Savior.

The parable of the faithful and wise servant underscores the significance of being diligent in our daily lives, fulfilling our responsibilities with faith and integrity, while also maintaining an expectation of Christ’s imminent return. Those who cultivate a faithful heart and remain watchful are promised a reward, while those who neglect this call face the dire consequences of unpreparedness.

We live in times marked by uncertainty and distraction but let us not lose sight of this crucial message. The essence of preparation is not solely in outward actions but also in the condition of our hearts. Living faithfully means embracing love, kindness, and humility, reflecting the character of Christ in our interactions with others.

As we navigate our daily lives, may we remain steadfast in our commitment to spiritual growth and unwavering in our hope. Let us encourage one another to stay vigilant, seeking to deepen our relationship with God through prayer, study, and community. The promise of eternal life is reserved for those who are ready when the Savior arrives. Let us hold onto this truth with integrity, embodying a spirit of preparedness, knowing that “only those who are prepared will be taken to life eternal.” Amen.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. Wicked Servant Says To Himself

In shadows cast by twilight's grace, 

A call to watch, to heed thy place, 

For in the night, the hour unknown, 

The Master comes, His will be shown. 

"Watch therefore," whispers time's embrace, 

For of that day, no man can trace, 

The thief that comes, unbidden, sly, 

So stay alert, with lifted eye. 

The faithful servant, wise and true, 

Prepares the feast, the work to do, 

But woe to those who grow so lax, 

In fear and doubt, they turn their backs. 

When all is calm, their hearts may stray, 

Neglecting love, they lose their way, 

And when the Lord returns to eternally claim, 

They find their fate, a grievous shame. 

The faithful steward, steadfast heart, 

Rewards await, they shall not part, 

For those who tend with care and grace, 

Shall see the light of the Savior's face. Amen.
