The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 13 Verse 18 thru 23

18 “Hear then the parable of the sower. 19 The seed sown on the path is the one who hears the word of the kingdom without understanding it, and the evil one comes and steals away what was sown in his heart. 20 The seed sown on rocky ground is the one who hears the word and receives it at once with joy. 21 But he has no root and lasts only for a time. When some tribulation or persecution comes because of the word, he immediately falls away. 22 The seed sown among thorns is the one who hears the word, but then worldly anxiety and the lure of riches choke the word and it bears no fruit. 23 But the seed sown on rich soil is the one who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and yields a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold.”

In Matthew 13:18-23, Jesus shares the parable of the sower, highlighting the importance of how we receive and respond to God’s word. He illustrates four different types of soil, representing the various ways people engage with the teachings of the Kingdom. The seed sown on good soil stands as a powerful reminder that when we truly listen, understand, and nurture God's word in our lives, we can bear abundant fruit.

The key to fruitful living is not merely hearing the word but actively seeking to understand it and applying it in our daily lives. This requires commitment—daily practice, prayer, and a sincere desire to grow in faith. Just as a farmer tends to the soil and plants, we too must cultivate our hearts to receive God's truth, allowing it to take root and flourish.

Moreover, embracing the joy of salvation is vital in this journey. When we proclaim the good news of Jesus, we not only share the hope we have but also solidify our understanding and appreciation of His grace in our lives. Each act of sharing, each moment of prayer, and every effort put forth in seeking understanding serves to deepen our relationship with Him.

In our spiritual walk, we can take heart knowing that the Lord is ever-present, guiding us as we seek to bear fruit for His Kingdom. His promise is that when we keep His word and earnestly seek Him, we will experience the joy of salvation that overflows into every aspect of our lives. Let us commit ourselves to this divine endeavor, remembering that with God’s help, we can indeed bear fruit that glorifies Him. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

**Worldly Anxiety Chokes The Word**

In a field where the Word is sown,

A story of hearts, to each their own.

Listen closely, for the truth is near,

In parables spoken, let us draw near.

The sower casts seeds with gentle grace,

On different soils, in this sacred space.

Some fall by the path, the ground hard and worn,

Like a heart that hears, but is soon forlorn.

The birds of the air come down with haste,

To snatch up the truth, a hunger laid waste.

With ears that perceive not, their minds far away,

The seed finds no roots, and the light fades to gray.

Then others on rocky ground quickly spring,

With joy they receive, their praises they sing.

Yet when trials arise, and the sun blazes bright,

They wither and fade, lost to the night.

Among thorns, a third group does grow,

Their hearts choked by worries, by riches that flow.

The weight of distractions, the pleasures of time,

The seed bears no fruit, like shadows that climb.

But oh, the good soil, the heart that is true,

It welcomes the Word and lets love renew.

With roots growing deep, and branches that spread,

It bears fruit abundantly, a harvest ahead.

With patience, with care, and a spirit so bright,

The seed in good soil yields life and pure light.

So listen, dear souls, and ponder this tale,

For in every heart, the Word shall prevail. Amen.
