The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 13 Verses One thru Nine
1 On that day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down by the sea. 2 Such large crowds gathered around him that he got into a boat and sat down, and the whole crowd stood along the shore. 3 And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying: “A sower went out to sow.4 And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path, and birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil. It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep, 6 and when the sun rose it was scorched, and it withered for lack of roots. 7 Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it. 8 But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit, a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold. 9 Whoever has ears ought to hear.”
Matthew 13:1-9 presents the Parable of the Sower, a profound teaching that invites us to reflect on the receptivity of our hearts to God's Word. In this parable, a sower goes out to sow seeds and depending on the type of soil they land on, the seeds yield varying results. The message resonates deeply with our spiritual journey, particularly as devout Catholics who hold the belief in the True Presence of the Eucharist.
To sow seeds of Salvation effectively, we must not only share the Good News but also be rooted in our faith in the Eucharist. As Catholics, we believe that in the Eucharist, we receive Christ Himself—His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. This sacrament is the ultimate expression of God's love and grace, inviting us to become One with Jesus. By consuming the Eucharist, we are nourished and strengthened in our spiritual lives and seek to share Him as the only Savoir of the world.
Just as the seeds in the parable require good soil to thrive, our faith must be deeply entrenched in love, faith, and hope of His grace to bloom beautifully in our lives. The richness of the Eucharist cultivates a heart ready to accept God’s word, allowing us to grow in holiness and bear fruit in our love for others.
As we partake in this sacred mystery, let us examine the soil of our hearts. Are we like the hardened path, or are we fertile ground, receptive to God's message? By believing in the True Presence of the Eucharist, we align ourselves with Christ, enhancing our ability to sow seeds of Salvation in the world around us. May we approach each Eucharistic celebration with reverence, knowing that through His grace, we are empowered to bring forth a bountiful harvest. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**The Parable of the Sower**
In fields of gold, the sower stands,
With open heart and outstretched hands,
He casts his seeds upon the earth,
A testament to hope and eternal rebirth.
Some fall on paths, where footsteps tread,
The hardened ground, where dreams lie dead.
The crows above, they seize their prize,
Yet still the sower, he hopes and tries.
Some find the stones, with shallow ground,
Where roots are weak, and life’s not found.
The sun beats down, the plants wither fast,
Yet in his heart, he dreams of the past.
The thorns arise, their grasping claws,
Choking the life, disobeying laws.
Yet still the sower casts his grain,
For hope transcends the weeds of pain.
Then comes the good soil, rich and deep,
Where faith abounds and love will leap.
A bountiful harvest, joyfully sung,
In the hearts that believe, new life is sprung. Amen.
