The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 10 Verse 16 thru 25

16 “Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves. 17 But beware of people, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues,18 and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake as a witness before them and the pagans. 19 When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say. 20 For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. 21 Brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; children will rise up against parents and have them put to death. 22 You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved. 23 When they persecute you in one town, flee to another. Amen, I say to you, you will not finish the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes. 24 No disciple is above his teacher, no slave above his master. 25 It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, for the slave that he become like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!

In Matthew 10:16-25, Jesus prepares His disciples for the challenges they will face as they carry out His mission. He warns them that they will be like sheep among wolves, facing hostility and persecution as they boldly proclaim the Gospel. Despite these daunting prospects, He reassures them that they need not worry about what to say when the time comes. Jesus promises that the Spirit of their Father will speak through them, providing the right words at the right moment.

This invitation to depend on divine guidance highlights the profound relationship between faith and daily practice in the Word of God. When we immerse ourselves in Scripture, we cultivate a deeper understanding of God’s character and His call on our lives. Engaging daily with the Bible equips us with knowledge, wisdom, and the courage to share our faith fearlessly.

Just as the disciples were not to fret about their defenses, modern believers today can find peace and confidence in their witness too. By grounding ourselves in the Word, we familiarize ourselves with God's message, enabling us to articulate it genuinely and powerfully when opportunities arise.

Moreover, moments of sharing our faith can evoke anxiety, but they are also opportunities for God to demonstrate His faithfulness. When we lean into our relationship with Him through daily devotion, study, and prayer, we can be assured that He will guide our words and actions.

So, let the promise of Matthew 10:16-25 inspire you to engage regularly with Scripture. As you deepen your practice in the word of God, trust that when you speak of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit will be your advocate, empowering you to share His love and truth boldly. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

07-10-2026 Matthew 10 v1625

**No Disciple Is Above His Teacher**

In the heart of the storm, where shadows dwell,

A call to the weary, a tale to tell,

“Behold, I send you as sheep in the night,

Amidst wolves that wander, you carry the light.

Wise as the serpent, gentle as dove,

In a world that is harsh, be guided by love.

For they’ll scourge and disdain, this path you must tread,

Yet stand firm in the truth, let not fear fill your head.

You’ll face persecution, be brought to the king,

Before the authorities, your voice will ring.

In that hour of trial, don’t fret or prepare,

The Spirit will talk, His words will declare.

Brother will turn, against brother he’ll rise,

A child against father, betrayal in ties.

But remain steadfast, my faithful, my own,

Through the trials and tempests, your faith has been sown.

For a disciple isn’t above, nor a servant more grand,

If I faced rejection, so will you stand.

Yet in every shadow, in every dark hour,

Remember the promise, I give you My power.

So fear not the mocking, nor the bitter disdain,

For in weakness, you’re strengthened, in loss, you will gain.

Within these small moments, My purpose, you’ll see,

As sheep amongst wolves, you shall hope and be free.” Amen.
