The Gospel of Luke Chapter 12 Verse One thru Seven
1 Meanwhile, so many people were crowding together that they were trampling one another underfoot. He began to speak, first to his disciples, “Beware of the leaven—that is, the hypocrisy—of the Pharisees. 2 “There is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. 3 Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops. 4 I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body but after that can do no more. 5 I shall show you whom to fear. Be afraid of the one who after killing has the power to cast into Gehenna; yes, I tell you, be afraid of that one. 6 Are not five sparrows sold for two small coins? Yet not one of them has escaped the notice of God. 7 Even the hairs of your head have all been counted. Do not be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.
In Luke 12:1-7, Jesus speaks to the crowd, urging His followers to be wary of hypocrisy and the fear of man. He emphasizes the importance of integrity and authenticity in our lives, teaching us not to be swayed by the opinions of others. He reminds us that the truth will ultimately be revealed, and what is whispered in secret will be proclaimed from the rooftops. Jesus underscores the gravity of our words and actions, encouraging us to remain steadfast in our faith.
Amidst this cautionary message, He offers profound reassurance: "Do not be afraid." Jesus instructs His followers not to fear those who can harm the body but cannot reach the soul. He emphasizes that God cares deeply for each of us, illustrating this by declaring that even the sparrows, which are of little value in the marketplace, are accounted for by God. If He pays such close attention to these small creatures, how much more does He care for us? Jesus concludes by affirming that we are worth "more than many sparrows."
This powerful reminder invites us to reflect on our inherent value in God's eyes. In moments of anxiety or fear, we can find solace in knowing that our lives hold great significance to our Creator. He knows the number of hairs on our heads and watches over us with unfathomable love and concern.
Therefore, when we encounter trials or face the uncertainties of life, let us remember that we are held in the hands of a loving God who values us immensely. We need not be afraid because we are treasured and cared for beyond measure. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Do Not Be Afraid**
In the crowd, their whispers swirl,
Hypocrisy dressed in a polished pearl,
Beware the leaven, the yeast that spreads,
The truth will out, where silence treads.
Fear not the ones who can harm the clay,
For beyond this life, there's a brighter way.
The soul, dear heart, is of greater worth,
Than all the treasures that grace this earth.
A sparrow falls, yet how well they're known,
Each moment counted, not left alone.
In Heaven's gaze, we are valued and seen,
Every hair on our head, a gift in between.
So speak with courage, let your light shine bright,
Declare the truth, walk boldly in right.
For in the silence of fear, love takes its stand,
With faith as the anchor, we rise hand in hand.
Remember, dear friends, you’re never alone,
In all your shadows, you’ve a Father at home.
His love is the whisper that calms every fear,
Embrace the good news, let your heart draw near. Amen.
