The Gospel of Luke Ch 11 Verse 5 thru 13
5 And he said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend to whom he goes at midnight and says, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, 6 for a friend of mine has arrived at my house from a journey and I have nothing to offer him,’ 7 and he says in reply from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door has already been locked and my children and I are already in bed. I cannot get up to give you anything.’ 8 I tell you, if he does not get up to give him the loaves because of their friendship, he will get up to give him whatever he needs because of his persistence. 9 “And I tell you, ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 11 What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish? 12 Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg? 13 If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”
In Luke 11:5-13, Jesus imparts a powerful lesson on the importance of persistence in prayer. He tells the parable of a man who, in the dead of night, goes to his friend asking for bread to feed an unexpected guest. Initially, the friend refuses, but due to the man’s persistence, he eventually gets up and provides for him. This story highlights that just as we may approach friends for help, we can and should approach God with our needs and desires, unwavering in our faith.
God encourages us to be persistent. He invites us to knock on His door, promising that it will be opened to us. He tells us to seek, assuring us that we will find, and to ask so that we may receive. This call to action is not just a gentle suggestion; it’s a divine assurance that our prayers matter.
As we walk daily in our faith, we should remain grounded in Scripture, immersing ourselves in God’s Word. Engaging with the Bible cultivates a heart attuned to His voice and a mind ready to discern His will. Pray unceasingly over every aspect of your life, trusting that God hears your cries and sees your struggles.
In our persistence, let us also declare our love for God and all that enriches our lives. Proclaiming our faith with confidence can inspire those around us and deepen our own relationship with the Lord. Remember, we are never alone in our journeys. God stands ready to respond, bless, and guide us. As we seek Him, let's do so with boldness, knowing—and believing—that the door is open to those who earnestly seek His presence. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Prayers Day Four for Kelly Zorros Diefendorf. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20
10-08-2026 Luke 11 v0513
The One Who Seeks Finds
In the hush of twilight’s embrace,
A knock rings out, a plea for grace.
“Friend, lend me bread, the hour is late,
For a traveler’s need at my humble gate.”
Though sleepy eyes may wish to close,
Compassion stirs, as kindness flows.
For in this simple act we find
A heart awakened; a bond intertwined.
What father would give his child a stone,
When hunger’s cry is the truth shown?
Or scorpions where fish should gleam,
In love’s vast ocean, kindness streams.
Ask, seek, knock—these words He shares,
A promise nestled in our daily cares.
For gifts of grace, when boldly sought,
Are woven in love, never for naught.
The door swings wide, the heart takes flight,
In failing moments, in darkest night.
With hands wide open, the heavens pour,
All that we need, and so much more.
So come with courage, with fervent prayer,
For the Father waits, He’s always there.
In every question, in every plea,
A treasure awaits—His love, so free. Amen.
