The Gospel of Luke Ch 11 Verse One thru Four

1 He was praying in a certain place, and when he had finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.” 2 He said to them, “When you pray, say: Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. 3 Give us each day our daily bread 4 and forgive us our sins for we ourselves forgive everyone in debt to us, and do not subject us to the final test.”

In Luke 11:1-4, we encounter a profound moment where Jesus teaches His disciples how to pray. Prompted by their request to learn, He offers them the prayer that has since become central to Christian worship: the Our Father. This prayer is not just a set of words; it encapsulates the essence of our relationship with God and the way we should approach Him daily.

As we reflect on these verses, we are reminded that prayer should be a constant in our lives, to remain in a daily communion with the Lord. The Our Father serves as a beautiful model, reminding us of the paramount importance of expressing our dependence on God. When we pray for our "daily bread," we acknowledge that everything we have comes from His generous hand. It teaches us gratitude—a recognition of His provision for our needs, both physical and spiritual.

Equally important is the call to forgive those who trespass against us. In uttering this plea, we invite God’s grace into our lives and, in turn, commit ourselves to extend that grace to others. Forgiveness is essential; it frees us from the burdens of resentment and opens our hearts to the peace that only God can provide.

Ultimately, praying the Our Father daily is a powerful practice that aligns our hearts with God's will. It encourages humility, fosters gratitude, and cultivates compassion. As we rise each day, let us approach our Creator in prayer, asking for His guidance and strength while remembering to forgive those who have wronged us. By doing so, we not only enrich our own lives but also reflect the love and mercy of our Heavenly Father. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Prayers Day Three for Kelly Zorros Diefendorf. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Do Not Subject Us To The Final Test

In days of old, when shadows cast,

The Master taught, His wisdom vast,

A heart inspired, the disciples came,

"Lord, teach us how to call Your name."

With eyes of faith, they sought to know,

The sacred way their hearts could show,

He lifted prayers like morning dew,

A pattern divine, a guide so true.

“Our Father above, in heaven’s embrace,

Hallowed be Your name in this holy space,

Your kingdom come, Your will be done,

On earth as in heaven, forgiven by Your Son.”

The bread of life, grant us each day,

Forgive our debts, as we find our way,

In mercy's grasp, let kindness abound,

As we seek grace, in love we are found.

With every breath, let this truth soar,

To trust in You, forevermore,

In trials faced, Your strength we find,

In unity and peace, our hearts entwined.

So teach us, Lord, to pray and believe,

In words so simple, we learn to receive,

For in each whisper, in each plea,

A bond is woven between You and me. Amen.
