The Letter to the Hebrews Chapter 10 V- 8 and 13
8 First he says, “Sacrifices and offerings, holocausts and sin offerings, you neither desired nor delighted in.” These are offered according to the law. 9 Then he says, “Behold, I come to do your will.” He takes away the first to establish the second. 10 By this “will,” we have been consecrated through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 Every priest stands daily at his ministry, offering frequently those same sacrifices that can never take away sins. 12 But this one offered one sacrifice for sins, and took his seat forever at the right hand of God; 13 now he waits until his enemies are made his footstool.
Hebrews 10:8-13 presents a profound reflection on the sacrificial system of the Old Testament and its fulfillment in Jesus Christ. The author emphasizes that the sacrifices and offerings mandated by the Law were ultimately insufficient. In verse 8, it is stated that God did not desire these rituals, highlighting their inability to truly atone for sin. Instead, Jesus embodies the perfect fulfillment of God's will, as indicated in verse 9, where He declares, “I have come to do Your will.”
In this declaration, Jesus positions Himself as the ultimate and real sacrifice, contrasting sharply with the repeated animal sacrifices that were a temporary solution to humanity's sin. By willingly offering Himself, He established a new covenant, one that brings lasting redemption. Verse 10 confirms that through Christ’s sacrifice, we are sanctified once and for all—a powerful reminder that His atonement is complete and final. No further offerings are needed, for Christ has accomplished what the Law could not.
Verses 11-13 reinforce this truth by presenting a stark contrast between the continual sacrifices of priests and the singular, all-sufficient sacrifice of Christ. While the priests stood daily performing rituals, Jesus, after offering Himself, sat down at the right hand of God, signifying the completion of His work. His posture of rest speaks volumes about the finality of His sacrifice.
In conclusion, Hebrews 10:8-13 encapsulates the gospel message: Jesus fulfills the Will of God by being the real sacrifice once and for all. Through His death and resurrection, He has opened the way for us to approach God with confidence, forever securing our salvation. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**His Seat Forever at the Right Hand of God**
In ancient days, the priests would stand,
With offerings made by human hand,
Yet shadows lingered, sins remained,
A sacrifice, the Paschal Lamb unchained.
“Not in burnt gifts,” the Scriptures say,
“Nor blood of goats to pave the way,”
But in His heart, a purpose clear,
To do God's will, the path sincere.
With open arms, He took the cross,
A perfect gift, redeeming loss,
Once and for all, the debt is paid,
In Him, our hope, our fears allayed.
Now seated high, He reigns above,
The final word, the gift of love,
For through His blood, we are made whole,
Eternal grace, renewing our soul. Amen.
