The First Letter of John Chapter 5 V- 10 through 12

10 Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar by not believing the testimony God has given about his Son. 11 And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever possesses the Son has life; whoever does not possess the Son of God does not have life.

1 John 5:10-12 emphasizes the profound truth that belief in Jesus Christ is not merely an intellectual acceptance but the gateway to eternal life. The verses convey that those who believe in the Son of God possess a testimony within themselves, affirming the transformative power of faith. It presents a clear contrast: belief leads to life, while unbelief results in spiritual emptiness.

"If only we’d believe, then Life Eternal is our life." This declaration encapsulates the essence of the Christian faith. Eternal life is not just a distant promise; it begins the moment we accept Jesus into our hearts. It is an invitation to experience the fullness of life—joy, peace, purpose, and hope. Jesus Himself declared, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the fullest" (John 10:10). When we embrace this truth, we enter into a relationship with Christ that transcends our earthly existence, offering us a glimpse of the divine.

Conversely, the passage warns that those who do not believe do not possess this eternal life. They may pursue various quests for fulfillment—success, relationships, or material possessions—but without faith in Christ, these pursuits ultimately lead to despair. The absence of Jesus means forfeiting the life He offers, leaving a void that nothing else can fill.

In a world often filled with confusion and fleeting pleasures, the call to believe is both urgent and essential. As we reflect on these verses, let us remember that belief in Christ is the key to unlocking the true meaning of life. Without Him, we may wander through life, but with Him, we find the eternal purpose and joy we were created for. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Ephesians 6:17-20

01-10-2025 1 John 5 v1012

**Whoever Possesses the Son Has Life**

In the quiet whisper of the heart,

A truth resounds, a sacred part,

For those who trust in His embrace,

Eternal life, a boundless grace.

The witness dwells within the soul,

A light that shines, it makes us whole.

To believe in Him, the Son bestowed,

Is to walk in paths where love has flowed.

If only we’d believe, oh, how divine,

Life eternal, in His love we shine.

A promise held, a treasure vast,

In faith we find our fears surpassed.

Yet those who doubt, who turn away,

Find emptiness in life’s array.

Without His presence, shadows loom,

In the quest for meaning, there’s only gloom.

But oh, the joy of hearts that seek,

In Christ, the strong, the pure, the meek.

He offers hope, a vibrant song,

In His embrace, we truly belong.

So let us cling to His sweet call,

In faith, we rise; in doubt, we fall.

For in believing, we find our place,

Eternal life, in His warm embrace. Amen.
