The Letter to the Romans Chapter 9 Verse One thru Five
1 I speak the truth in Christ, I do not lie; my conscience joins with the holy Spirit in bearing me witness 2 that I have great sorrow and constant anguish in my heart. 3 For I could wish that I myself were accursed and separated from Christ for the sake of my brothers, my kin according to the flesh. 4 They are Israelites; theirs the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; 5 theirs the patriarchs, and from them, according to the flesh, is the Messiah. God who is over all be blessed forever. Amen.
In Romans 9:1-5, the Apostle Paul expresses profound sorrow over Israel's spiritual state, emphasizing his deep love for his fellow Jews. He speaks candidly about the privileges bestowed upon them: adoption as God's children, the glory of the covenant, receiving the Law, worship, and the promises. Central to this discussion is the acknowledgment that from the Israelites comes the Messiah—a theme that underscores the core of Christian faith.
We must remember that we worship a Messiah who is Jesus Christ, the Redeemer. Paul’s grief highlights a critical transition where the very people chosen to bring forth the Savior have rejected Him. Yet from this profound sadness springs forth the affirmation of Paul’s message—that the promises of God are fulfilled through Jesus Christ. He was born of the lineage of David, making Him inherently tied to the covenant promises made to Israel.
Jesus is not just a historical figure; He is the blessed One forever. Paul’s declaration points us to the necessity of recognizing Christ not only as a Jewish Messiah but as the Savior for all humanity. In this way, we understand that His redemptive work transcends cultural and national boundaries, making Him the sole pathway to salvation.
As we reflect on this passage, we are reminded of the importance of embracing the fullness of Jesus’ identity and mission. He is the bridge between God and humanity, the fulfillment of God's promises, and the only way to eternal life. Let us rejoice in the knowledge that our faith rests upon the firm foundation of Christ, our Redeemer. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**God Who Is Over All Be Blessed Forever**
In earnest truth, my heart laid bare,
A heavy weight, my soul's deep care,
For kin of flesh, lost in the night,
My cries ascend, a mournful plight.
The promise made, a covenant grand,
Through patriarchs their hopes do stand,
Of lineage rich, from Abraham's seed,
Yet through their eyes, the truth they heed.
From Israelites, the glory flows,
The law bestowed, where wisdom grows,
To them belong the sacred rites,
The whispered faith in starry Nights.
Yet boundless grace, through Christ revealed,
In every heart, His love unsealed,
For all are His, by faith embraced,
In mercy deep, we find our place. Amen.
