The Book of Jeremiah Chapter 17 V- 5 and 10
5 Thus says the LORD: Cursed is the man who trusts in human beings, who makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the LORD. 6 He is like a barren bush in the wasteland that enjoys no change of season, But stands in lava beds in the wilderness, a land, salty and uninhabited. 7 Blessed are those who trust in the LORD; the LORD will be their trust. 8 They are like a tree planted beside the waters that stretches out its roots to the stream: It does not fear heat when it comes, its leaves stay green; In the year of drought it shows no distress, but still produces fruit. 9 More tortuous than anything is the human heart, beyond remedy; who can understand it? 10 I, the LORD, explore the mind and test the heart, Giving to all according to their ways, according to the fruit of their deeds.
Jeremiah 17:5-10 offers profound wisdom about the heart's condition and the blessings that accompany a life surrendered to God. The verses warn against trusting in mere human strength, describing such reliance as a cursed existence, akin to a barren shrub in the desert. In contrast, those who place their trust in the Lord are likened to a flourishing tree planted by water—rooted, thriving, and unshakeable, even in a drought. This imagery reminds us that true blessing comes from a complete surrender to God, placing Him first in all we do.
Life often presents us with circumstances that feel overwhelming, and for some, the weight of past decisions results in imprisonment—both literal and metaphorical. Yet, in these trying times, there lies a beautiful truth. Even while serving a sentence, one can experience profound peace by trusting in Jesus Christ. Acknowledging His sovereignty allows us to release our burdens and find solace in His presence. When we surrender fully to the Lord, the chains of guilt and regret begin to loosen, providing freedom that surpasses our physical surroundings.
In the stillness of faith, we can rest assured that God knows our hearts. He searches and tests our minds as described in Jeremiah, prompting us to reevaluate where we place our trust. Choosing to lean on Him guarantees a source of life that sustains us through every trial. Whether in the confines of a prison or navigating the uncertainties of daily life, we can find liberation in the assurance of His grace and love. Let us remember that true freedom and blessing emerge when we wholeheartedly surrender to our Lord Jesus Christ, trusting in Him as our unwavering guide. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Blessed are Those who Trust in the Lord**
In desert's grasp, the heart does stray,
Where trust in man, like dust, will fray.
A barren shrub, alone in plight,
Withering beneath the harsh sunlight.
But blessed the soul who seeks the Lord,
In Him, our strength, our true reward.
Like trees by rivers, firm and free,
Rooted in grace, we’ll forever be.
Through trials faced, like drought and storm,
In faith, we find a refuge warm.
When shadows loom and doubts arise,
His love shines bright, and fear must die.
Though prison walls may bind us tight,
In Him, we soar to greater heights.
With every prayer, our burdens cease,
For in surrender, we find our peace.
So trust in Him with heart and mind,
In every struggle, hope aligned.
For those who place their lives in grace,
Shall know His blessings, face to face. Amen.
