First Letter to the Corinthians 3 v-18 thru 23

18 Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you considers himself wise in this age, let him become a fool so as to become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in the eyes of God, for it is written: “He catches the wise in their own ruses,” 20 and again: “The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.” 21 So let no one boast about human beings, for everything belongs to you,22 Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or the present or the future: all belong to you, 23 and you to Christ, and Christ to God.

Our beloved Saul turned Paul addresses issues of wisdom, pride, and the nature of true understanding within the Christian community. In these verses, he cautions believers against the dangers of worldly wisdom and emphasizes the importance of humility in their spiritual journey.

Paul begins by urging the Corinthians to avoid deceiving themselves. He warns that if anyone among them thinks they are wise by the standards of this age, they should become fools so that they may become truly wise. This paradox highlights the contrast between worldly wisdom, which often leads to pride and division, and the wisdom that comes from God, which is rooted in humility and a recognition of one's limitations.

The apostle further explains that the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight. He cites the scriptures, showing that God catches the wise in their craftiness, and underscores that human understanding is ultimately inadequate when compared to divine wisdom. This reinforces the idea that reliance on human intellect or societal standards can lead believers astray, fostering division rather than unity in the body of Christ.

In verse 21, Paul concludes with a powerful reminder that all things belong to us believers—whether Paul, Apollos, or Cephas, as well as the world, life, death, and the present and future. This assertion calls for a shift in perspective, encouraging the Corinthians to recognize that their identity and purpose are found in Christ, rather than in their allegiances to different leaders or philosophies.

Surely, these verses challenge us believers to seek God’s wisdom and to cultivate a spirit of humility, reminding us that true understanding can only be attained through a relationship with Christ, who is the ultimate source of wisdom and truth. If only we’d be humble in our belief. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Fool Become Wisdom Become**

In the heart of Corinth, where knowledge did swell,

Paul spoke to the faithful, a truth to compel.

"Deceive not yourselves, oh wise in your pride,

For the wisdom of ages can swiftly divide."

If you think you are wise by the world’s fleeting light,

Embrace the foolishness, step into the night.

For the wise of this realm, in their clever disguise,

Are caught in the snare of their own grand lies.

The Scriptures remind us, in God’s sight so clear,

What seems wise to man may vanish like air.

He laughs at the schemers, the plans that they weave,

For the heart of true wisdom is learned to believe.

All things are for you, in this grand tapestry,

From Paul to Apollos, all serve the decree.

Life, death, present moments, the future ahead,

In Christ, we find our purpose; in Him, we are fed.

So cast off your pride, let humility reign,

For in weakness, there’s strength; in surrender, there’s gain.

Seek not worldly wisdom, but the truth from above,

In the light of His grace, find your refuge in love. Amen.
