The Book of Matthew 7 v- Six thru Eight

6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces. 7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus offers profound wisdom on how to approach the sacred act of discernment and prayer. Matthew 7:6 cautions, "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces." This verse emphasizes the importance of discernment in sharing wisdom and sacred truths. Just as pearls are precious and should not be wasted on those who cannot appreciate their value, so should the sacred truths of our faith be shared with those who are receptive and respectful.

Jesus continues His teaching with an assurance of God’s responsiveness to our prayers. In Matthew 7:7-8, He encourages, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." These verses offer a powerful promise that when we approach God with sincere hearts, our efforts will not be in vain.

Asking implies a humble recognition of our needs and our dependence on God. It is an act of faith to bring our requests before Him, trusting in His goodness and provision. Seeking suggests a deeper level of engagement, an active pursuit of truth, wisdom, and understanding. It requires dedication, patience, and a willingness to search diligently. Knocking denotes persistence and perseverance. It is a call to remain steadfast in our faith, even when the answers are not immediate or what we expect.

Together, these actions—asking, seeking, and knocking—represent a dynamic and engaged relationship with God. They assure us that our prayers are heard and that God, in His perfect timing and wisdom, responds to our needs. It is important to approach God with a heart full of faith, humility, and persistence. In doing so, we align ourselves with His will and open the door to His abundant blessings.

In summary, Matthew 7:6-8 teaches us to be wise in our interactions with others, to value the sacredness of our faith, and to approach God with confidence and perseverance. By doing so, we honor the sanctity of His sacraments and deepen our relationship with Him. Let us, therefore, heed these teachings, asking with faith, seeking with diligence, and knocking with perseverance, trusting that God will answer and open doors in ways beyond our understanding. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

06-25-2024 Matthew 7 v-0608

**The Secret of Sincere Prayer**

Do not cast pearls before the swine,

Nor give what’s sacred to the blind.

For precious things are not to be,

Trampled by those who cannot see.

Ask, and it shall be given you,

Seek, and find the path that’s true.

Knock, and the door will open wide,

With love and grace, come step inside as proof.

For everyone who seeks, shall find,

In earnest heart and open mind.

To those who knock, the door’s unveiled,

Through faith and hope, love prevails.

So guard your heart, and guard it well,

Let wisdom in your spirit dwell.

Seek the truth with fervent plea,

And find the light that sets you free. Amen.
