The 1st Letter to the Corinthians Ch 4 Verse 1 thru 5

1 Thus should one regard us: as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 2 Now it is of course required of stewards that they be found trustworthy. 3 It does not concern me in the least that I be judged by you or any human tribunal; I do not even pass judgment on myself; 4 I am not conscious of anything against me, but I do not thereby stand acquitted; the one who judges me is the Lord. 5 Therefore, do not make any judgment before the appointed time, until the Lord comes, for he will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will manifest the motives of our hearts, and then everyone will receive praise from God.

In 1 Corinthians 4:1-5, the Apostle Paul addresses the Corinthian church, emphasizing the importance of a proper understanding of leadership and judgment within the Christian community. He begins by reminding the believers that they are to regard him and other apostles as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. This implies a responsibility toward maintaining faithfulness in their ministry.

Paul makes it clear that, in the grand scheme of things, it is not human judgment that holds ultimate significance. He expresses a deep conviction that accountability lies with God alone. When he says that he does not even judge himself, he highlights that our perceptions and evaluations can be flawed, limited by our biases and misunderstandings. It is Christ who discerns the motives and truths of our hearts—a divine judgment that transcends our earthly assessments.

Furthermore, Paul emphasizes that the Lord will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and disclose the purposes of the heart. This verse serves as a reminder that every hidden sin, every overlooked act of faithfulness, will ultimately be revealed before Christ. Thus, believers should focus on living faithfully, knowing that their true validation comes from God’s judgment rather than human approval or criticism.

So, 1 Corinthians 4:1-5 reminds us as we navigate our life’s circumstances that it is not our place to judge the hearts and actions of others definitively. Instead, we entrust our lives to Christ, the true Judge, who alone knows our struggles and intentions. He alone offers grace and understanding, holding the ultimate authority over our souls. Let us live in light of His truth, knowing that He will judge justly. Amen

Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Will Manifest The Motives Of Our Hearts

In the heart of ancient Corinth, a letter penned with care, 

Paul speaks of stewardship, a truth beyond compare. 

Servants of the mystery, we are called to share the light, 

In the shadow of our judgment, we must walk with holy might. 

To think of us as more than clay, mere vessels in the fight, 

For Lord himself will judge our deeds, in darkness brings to light. 

No praise can bind our fragile souls, nor can the whispers sway, 

For what is hidden, all shall know, in truth's revealing day. 

So let not pride or fear distort the gifts we’ve been bestowed, 

For each has played their part divine upon this winding road. 

Competitions fade and rivalries dissolve in grace's tune, 

Our worth is found in faithfulness beneath the watchful moon. 

Thus, let us trust the Master’s hand, who sees what eyes can’t see, 

For every heart shall stand revealed, both you and I will be. 

So let us labor for His sake, with love our guiding star, 

In every moment, seek to serve—our treasure, not afar. Amen.
