The 1st Letter to the Cor Ch 12 Verse 1214 thru 2731
12 As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit. 14 Now the body is not a single part, but many. 27 Now you are Christ’s body, and individually parts of it. 28 Some people God has designated in the church to be, first, apostles; second, prophets; third, teachers; then, mighty deeds; then, gifts of healing, assistance, administration, and varieties of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work mighty deeds? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? 31 Strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts.
In 1 Corinthians 12:12-31, the Apostle Paul illustrates the beauty and unity of the Body of Christ, likening it to a human body made up of many parts, each vital and distinct. Just as a body cannot function properly if one part is missing or unappreciated, so too is the Church nourished and strengthened through the diverse gifts bestowed upon its members. Every believer is anointed by God with specific spiritual gifts, whether as teachers, prophets, healers, or through acts of mighty deeds.
In this passage, Paul encourages us to strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts. This call to action is a reminder that God equips us according to His purpose and grace. We are not meant to be passive observers but active participants in the mission of sharing the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. Each gift serves a unique role in enriching the Church and reaching out to the world, fostering unity and love among all believers.
We must accept the divine will of God as we cultivate and share these gifts, understanding that they are not for our glory but for the glory of God. The effectiveness of our gifts lies in our submission to His purpose. When we recognize and embrace our capabilities, we create a vibrant tapestry of faith, where every thread serves a purpose.
Let us encourage one another to fulfill our calling, celebrating the diversity of gifts among us while striving for unity in our mission. As we put our gifts into action, we reflect Christ's love, making His message of salvation known to all. May we seek to honor God through our gifts, living as true representatives of His Kingdom on Earth. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

The Greatest Spiritual Gifts
In the body of Christ, each part finds its place,
A tapestry woven, each thread has its grace.
From the head to the toes, in harmony bound,
Unity flourishes where love can be found.
Twelve limbs of the body, yet one spirit within,
Diverse as the seasons, yet bound to begin.
The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you,”
For in every connection, the strength will renew you.
A heartbeat of purpose, as one pulse we hum,
Different gifts shining, like stars when they come.
The mouth and the ear, in their functions so fair,
Both vital to life, each must share and care.
What if all were a single bleak tone?
Lost is the beauty when parts stand alone.
In struggles we find, the grace to bestow,
Affection that heals, a love that can grow.
See those who are weaker, extend them your hand,
For in lifting the lowly, together we stand.
Honor each member, for value lies deep,
In the heart of community, where all spirits leap.
God sets the foundations, each role finely tuned,
From prophets to teachers, with wisdom festooned.
Rejoice in your neighbors, for all are entwined,
In the tapestry thriving, His glory we find.
So seek the best gifts, yet cherish the whole,
In the family of faith, let love make you whole.
With Christ as our center, united we rise,
In the body of believers, our purpose, the prize. Amen.
