The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 10 V- 5 through 14

5 Jesus sent out these twelve after instructing them thus, “Do not go into pagan territory or enter a Samaritan town. 6 Go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons. Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give. 9 Do not take gold or silver or copper for your belts; 10 no sack for the journey, or a second tunic, or sandals, or walking stick. The laborer deserves his keep. 11 Whatever town or village you enter, look for a worthy person in it, and stay there until you leave. 12 As you enter a house, wish it peace. 13 If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; if not, let your peace return to you. 14 Whoever will not receive you or listen to your words—go outside that house or town and shake the dust from your feet.”

In Matthew 10:5-14, Jesus sends out His disciples with clear instructions on how to serve and spread the Gospel. He emphasizes the importance of going out into the world without expecting anything in return, embodying the essence of selfless service. The directive to offer healing, proclaim the Kingdom of Heaven, and freely give what they have received underscores a profound truth: to give is to serve without cost. This act of giving transcends mere transactions; it is a manifestation of Christ-like love that prioritizes the well-being of others over personal gain.

As followers of Christ, we are called to exemplify this attitude, demonstrating love over gain, pleasure over pain. In a world often driven by self-interest, we can rise above societal norms by embracing humility and compassion. When we serve others without seeking recognition or recompense, we align ourselves with the heart of Jesus, who modeled this behavior throughout His ministry.

To overcome shame in our giving means to embrace vulnerability, recognizing that our contributions—whether in time, resources, or kindness—are vital in the tapestry of salvation. We must play joyfully in Salvation’s rain, understanding that our acts of service reflect God’s grace and mercy. It is in these moments of authentic giving that we hear Jesus whisper in our hearts, “Well done, my faithful servant.”

Let us strive to live out these verses, allowing our lives to be a testament to the transformative power of love and service. As we give, may we do so wholeheartedly, creating ripples of joy and hope in a world that desperately needs it. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

**Without Cost You Are to Give**

Upon the hills where echoes call,

The Master sends His faithful throng,

“Go forth,” He says, “to one and all,

With love and grace, spread forth my song.”

No gold or silver in your pack,

Just faith to guide your every step,

In kindness, let your hearts not lack,

For in your giving, His true love is kept.

Heal the sick, the broken mend,

Proclaim the Kingdom, near and wide,

In every heart, let hope ascend,

For Christ is with you, as your guide.

The lost, the weary, seek their rest,

Embrace the shamed, the outcast too,

In service, find your truest quest,

Reflect the love that’s born anew.

As you go forth, remember this:

To give is to serve, a sacred art,

In every act, let joy exist,

With open hands and open heart.

For in this journey, you shall find,

A treasure far beyond the gold,

In faithfulness, your souls aligned,

A story of His love retold.

So in the harvest fields we sow,

With every word and every deed,

In Christ-like love, let kindness flow,

For in our giving, hearts are freed.

And when at last the day is done,

With joy, we’ll hear the Savior's voice,

“Well done, my servant, faithful one,”

In love, we find our truest choice. Amen.
