The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 11 V- 16 through 19
16 “To what shall I compare this generation?* It is like children who sit in marketplaces and call to one another, 17 ‘We played the flute for you, but you did not dance, we sang a dirge but you did not mourn.’ 18 For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they said, ‘He is possessed by a demon.’ 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking and they said, ‘Look, he is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is vindicated by her works.”
In Matthew 11:16-19, Jesus addresses the fickleness of the people, comparing them to children who are never satisfied, whether they hear a joyful tune or a somber lament. This passage highlights the challenge of recognizing true joy and wisdom in a world often resistant to divine truth. Jesus contrasts His ministry, which calls for repentance and humility, with that of John the Baptist, who lived a life of austerity. Both figures faced criticism, illustrating how the world often misunderstands or dismisses the righteous paths set before them.
True joy, as revealed in these verses, is not found in the fleeting pleasures of life or the opinions of others, but in the profound understanding of salvation. It is through a relationship with Christ that we discover the deeper meanings of existence—the finer points that elevate our lives and lead us to genuine fulfillment. When we surrender every aspect of our lives to Him, we are not only vindicated but also empowered to witness the transformative power of His wisdom.
Christ embodies Wisdom, Truth, and the Way, guiding us through the complexities of life. As we align our hearts and minds with His teachings, we gain insight that transcends worldly understanding. Our wisdom, rooted in Christ, prevails over the distractions and discontent that often plague humanity. In embracing this divine wisdom, we experience a joy that is steadfast and unwavering.
Let us remember that true joy is found in the embrace of salvation, where Christ reigns supreme. By surrendering our lives to Him, we unlock the door to a wisdom that enriches every aspect of our existence. Spirit led God inspired Christ fed. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Wisdom is Vindicated by Her Works**
In the marketplace, the children play,
With laughter and songs that fade away,
“Come dance with us!” they call with glee,
But the world’s illustrious tune is never free.
John came in sorrow, a voice in the night,
A prophet of truth, a beacon of light,
He wore rough garments, ate locusts and honey,
Yet they scoffed at his ways, so solemn, not funny.
Then came the Savior, with joy in His heart,
Eating and drinking, a different kind of art,
“Behold, a glutton!” the critics would say,
“Why follow this man? He leads us astray!”
Yet wisdom is proven by acts of the wise,
In the hearts of the humble, where truth never lies.
For joy isn’t found in the whims of the crowd,
But in knowing the Savior, whose love is avowed.
Through shadows and trials, His light will abide,
In salvation’s embrace, our worries subside.
So let us not waver, nor be led astray,
For true joy is found in the Christ of our way.
In every lament, in each song that we sing,
May we cling to His wisdom, for He is our King.
In the laughter and tears, in the quiet and strife,
We find our true joy in the fullness of life. Amen.
