The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 5 V- Two and Twelve

2 Jesus began to teach them, saying: 3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. 5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land. 6 Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. 7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. 8 Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God. 9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. 10 Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you [falsely] because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. Thus they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”

Matthew 5:2-12, part of the Sermon on the Mount, presents a profound blueprint for living a blessed life, often referred to as the Beatitudes. In these verses, Jesus speaks directly to the heart of human experience, proclaiming the blessings that come to those who embody humility, mercy, and a deep longing for righteousness. The verse "Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness" resonates deeply with me, marking a pivotal moment in my spiritual journey that began in 2007.

When I first encountered this scripture, it struck a chord within me—a call to a deeper, more meaningful existence. The metaphor of hunger and thirst for righteousness illuminated my understanding of what it truly means to seek God’s will and justice in a world often filled with chaos and moral ambiguity. This verse became more than just words; it became a guiding principle that inspired me to surrender my life to a purpose greater than myself.

Since that transformative moment, I have committed myself to acting on this hunger for righteousness daily. It has influenced my choices, my interactions with others, and my understanding of compassion and integrity. Each day presents opportunities to embody the qualities Jesus describes: being poor in spirit, mourning with those who grieve, and being a peacemaker. I’ve learned that true righteousness is not merely a personal pursuit but a communal endeavor, inviting me to engage with the world around me.

Through this surrender, I have experienced the profound blessings promised in this scripture—comfort in times of sorrow, fulfillment in serving others, and an unshakeable hope for a brighter future. My life, shaped by these verses, is a testament to the transformative power of seeking righteousness with all my heart. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

11-01-2024 Matthew 5 V-0212

**Your Reward will be Great in Heaven**

In the quiet hills where wisdom sings,

A voice of grace, the truth it brings,

"Blessed are the meek," the Savior proclaims,

In their humble hearts, He knows their names.

"Blessed are those who mourn in pain,

For comfort awaits like gentle rain.

With tears they sow, in sorrow they stand,

Yet joy will blossom at His command."

"Blessed are the hungry, those who seek,

For righteousness strong, in the meek,

They thirst for justice, with fervent grace,

In the arms of mercy, they find their place."

"Blessed are the pure, in heart they shine,

With eyes unclouded, their spirits align.

In the light of truth, they see His face,

Their souls forever wrapped in His embrace."

"Blessed are the peacemakers, bold and true,

For they are called the children anew.

In a world of strife, they sow the calm,

Their gentle words, like a healing balm."

"Blessed are those who face the scorn,

For standing firm, in faith reborn.

Though trials may come and shadows loom,

The kingdom of heaven will break the gloom."

In these sacred words, a life unfolds,

A tapestry woven with threads of gold.

With each beatitude, our spirits soar,

In surrender, we find what we’re longing for. Amen.
