The First Letter of John 2 V- 12 and 14
12 I am writing to you, children, because your sins have been forgiven for his name’s sake. 13 I am writing to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have conquered the evil one. 14 I write to you, children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong and the word of God remains in you, and you have conquered the evil one.
1 John 2:12-14 is a passage that encapsulates the Apostle John's message of reassurance and encouragement to believers. In these verses, John addresses different groups within the Christian community, namely children, fathers, and young men, highlighting their spiritual growth and victories in faith.
In verse 12, John begins by affirming that he is writing to "little children," a term that signifies both the innocence and vulnerability of new believers. He emphasizes that their sins have been forgiven through Jesus Christ, underscoring the foundational Christian truth of salvation and grace. This assurance is critical for believers, as it reassures them of their identity in Christ and the completeness of God’s forgiveness.
Moving to verse 13, John addresses "fathers," representing mature believers who have a deep and abiding relationship with God. He acknowledges their knowledge of Him who is from the beginning, reflecting the wisdom and understanding that come with spiritual maturity. This recognition serves to encourage seasoned believers to continue in their faith journey, emphasizing that their relationship with God is a lifelong pursuit.
In the latter part of verse 13 and into verse 14, John speaks to "young men," who symbolize the strength and vigor of the faith community. He commends them for overcoming the evil one, highlighting their victories against temptation and spiritual challenges. This acknowledgment serves to empower them, reinforcing that they are equipped to face adversities through their faith.
Overall, these verses illustrate a progression in spiritual growth, from the innocence of early faith to the wisdom of maturity, all while emphasizing the importance of God's forgiveness and strength. John's message encourages believers of all stages to embrace their identity in Christ and to strive for deeper communion with God. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**The Word of God Remains in You**
To little children, I write with grace,
Your sins forgiven, in His warm embrace.
In Christ’s own name, your burdens cease,
He pours out mercy, grants you peace.
O fathers wise, with hearts so bold,
You’ve known the Truth, the ages old.
From the beginning, your faith has grown,
In every trial, His love is shown.
Young men arise, with strength anew,
You’ve battled darkness, you’ve seen it through.
The evil one falters at your stand,
With faith as armor, take His hand.
Each stage of life, a sacred call,
In unity, we rise, we’ll never fall.
From tender hearts to wisdom's light,
We journey onward, day and night.
So, let us cherish this bond we share,
In love’s embrace, we find our care.
Forgiven, growing, we’ll shine so bright,
Together we walk in His glorious light. Amen.
