The Book of Ephesians 4 v- One thru Six
1 I, then, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love, 3 striving to preserve the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace: 4 one body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:1-6 calls us to lead a life "worthy of the calling" we have received, emphasizing humility, gentleness, patience, and unity within the body of Christ. These virtues find a profound expression in the Eucharist, which stands as the Source of our humility and a central tenet of our faith.
The Eucharist, the sacrament of Christ's Body and Blood, is a humbling mystery that invites us to partake in the sacrifice of Jesus. It is a reminder of the ultimate humility displayed by Christ, who humbled Himself to the point of death on the cross for our salvation. When we receive the Eucharist, we are called to remember this selfless love and to embody it in our lives.
In Ephesians 4:2, Paul urges believers to "be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." The Eucharist nourishes us with the grace to live out these virtues. As we receive Christ into our very being, we are called to reflect His humility in our interactions with others, to be gentle in our actions, patient in our trials, and loving in our relationships.
Furthermore, verses 4-6 emphasize unity: "There is one body and one Spirit... one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all." The Eucharist is the sacrament of unity, bringing together believers as one body in Christ. It transcends individual differences and unites us in the shared experience of Christ's sacrifice. This unity is a powerful testament to our faith, fostering a community where humility and love prevail.
In conclusion, Ephesians 4:1-6 and the Eucharist together call us to a life of humility, gentleness, and unity. The Eucharist, as the Source of our humility, nourishes us with the grace to live a life worthy of our calling, reflecting Christ's love in all that we do. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20
07-28-2024 Ephesians 4 V-0106
**Lord’s prisoner in patience and humility**
In humble steps, a calling heard,
A life of grace, in every word,
With patience, love, and a gentle touch,
In unity, we’ll all mean so much.
One body strong, one Spirit pure,
In hope we stand, our hearts secure,
One Lord, one faith, one cleansing tide,
One God who walks close by our side.
In bonds of peace, we strive to stay,
With every breath, we seek His way,
Through every trial, in every land,
Together, strong, we’ll firmly stand.
In Christ, the cornerstone we find,
A perfect love, for all mankind,
So let us live, as we are called,
In unity, His grace enthralled. Amen.
