The Book of Psalms Chapter 110 V- One and Seven
1 A psalm of David. The LORD says to my lord: “Sit at my right hand, while I make your enemies your footstool.” 2 The scepter of your might: the LORD extends your strong scepter from Zion. Have dominion over your enemies! 3 Yours is princely power from the day of your birth. In holy splendor before the daystar, like dew I begot you. 4 The LORD has sworn and will not waver: “You are a priest forever in the manner of Melchizedek.” 5 At your right hand is the Lord, who crushes kings on the day of his wrath, 6 Who judges nations, heaps up corpses, crushes heads across the wide earth, 7 Who drinks from the brook by the wayside and thus holds high his head.
Psalm 110:1-7 is a profound passage that encapsulates the dual roles of Jesus Christ as both King and Priest. The psalm opens with a declaration from the Lord to the Messiah, stating, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.” This imagery of authority emphasizes the exalted position of Christ, who reigns in power over all creation. As we reflect on this scripture, we see the unfolding of God’s divine plan, where Jesus not only conquers sin and death but also intercedes for humanity.
The significance of Christ as a "forever priest" is rooted in the order of Melchizedek, which is introduced in verse 4. Unlike the Levitical priesthood, which was temporary and based on lineage, Jesus’ priesthood is eternal and universal. This means that He is always available to mediate on behalf of His people. When we speak of our priests as the Persona Christi, we recognize that each embodies the very presence of Christ among us. Many will ask how he can forgive sins in confession and here is the answer; Persona Christi. Just as a priest represents the people before God, Jesus stands as our ultimate representative, bridging the gap between humanity and the divine.
In His priestly role, Jesus offers us not just forgiveness, but a transformative relationship with God. He invites us into a life of communion, where we can experience grace, mercy, and love. As believers, we are called to embody this priestly ministry in our own lives, serving others and reflecting Christ’s love in our communities.
In conclusion, Psalm 110:1-7 invites us to celebrate the majesty of Christ as our eternal King and Priest. As we meditate on this truth, let us remember that in Him, we find our identity and purpose. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**A Priest Forever in the Manner of Melchizedek**
In the heavens, the Lord speaks clear,
"Sit at my right, O Son so dear,
Your foes beneath your feet shall fall,
In victory's light, you conquer all."
A priest forever, in grace you stand,
In Melchizedek’s order, by My divine hand.
No earthly ties to bind your reign,
You bring forth mercy, you bear our pain.
With scepter raised, you rule with might,
In shadows deep, you are our light.
Through trials faced, we find our way,
Your strength sustains us, day by day.
You intercede, a bridge of love,
Connecting earth to the heavens above.
In every heart, your peace abides,
A gentle shepherd, where hope resides.
So let us gather, in faith we cling,
To the promise found in our risen King.
Forever grateful, we lift our voice,
In Christ, our Savior, we truly rejoice! Amen.
