The Book of Matthew 6 v- 27, 33 thru 34

27 Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your life-span? 33 But seek first the kingdom [of God] and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides. 34 Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, worry often becomes an unwelcome companion. The weight of anxious thoughts can feel overwhelming, pulling us away from the true peace and joy that life has to offer. However, this scripture from Matthew 6:27, 33, and 34 provides profound wisdom that has the power to soothe our worried souls and lead us toward a life of surrender and Salvation.

"Can any of you by worrying add a single moment to your lifespan?" This emotional question invites us to reflect on the futility of our anxiety. Worrying does not change the outcome of our circumstances; it only robs us of the present moment. By recognizing the limits of our control, we begin to understand that there is a higher power at work, one that is far more capable of guiding our lives than our anxious minds. This realization is the first step toward surrender; acknowledging that our attempts to control our future are not only ineffective but also unnecessary.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given you besides." Here lies the heart of the message: the act of surrender is not about giving up but about redirecting our focus. When we prioritize our spiritual well-being and align our lives with the values of God's kingdom, we open ourselves to divine provision. Seeking God’s kingdom means embracing love, justice, and humility. It means trusting that when we live righteously, our needs will be met in ways we may not even anticipate. This promise of provision is deeply comforting, reminding us that we are not alone in our struggles.

"Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil." This final exhortation encourages us to live in the present moment. Each day comes with its own set of challenges, but it also comes with grace sufficient to meet them. By focusing on today, we free ourselves from the paralyzing grip of future anxieties. We learn to trust that just as God is with us today, He will be with us tomorrow. This daily dependence on divine guidance fosters a sense of peace and security.

In surrendering to the wisdom of this scripture, we find a pathway to Salvation that is not just about an eternal promise but also about experiencing peace and fulfillment in our everyday lives. It teaches us to trust in God's timing, to seek His righteousness, and to live fully in the present. This spiritual surrender transforms our worry into faith, our anxiety into trust, and our fear into love, offering our example in the words of St Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, whose feast day is Sept. 23, he is quoted as saying, “Pray, hope, and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.” Amen.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Seeking God’s Kingdom without Worry**

In the quiet hours of the night,

When worries grow and dreams take flight,

We ponder on our fleeting days,

And wonder if there's other ways.

Can worry add a moment's time,

Or ease the mountain we must daily climb?

The weight we bear, the fears we hide,

Are shadows cast from deep inside.

Yet hear the words of wisdom's call,

To seek God's kingdom, first of all.

In righteousness, our hearts align,

And blessings fall like morning's shine.

Do not fret for what’s to come,

Tomorrow's path is yet unsung.

Today's enough, its trials clear,

With faith and love, we persevere.

Each day unfolds with light anew,

Trust in God, and He'll see you through.

With every step, let go of fear,

For in His grace, He holds us near. Amen.
