The Gospel of Luke Chapter 8 v- 16 thru 18

16 “No one who lights a lamp conceals it with a vessel or sets it under a bed; rather, he places it on a lampstand so that those who enter may see the light. 17 For there is nothing hidden that will not become visible, and nothing secret that will not be known and come to light. 18 Take care, then, how you hear. To anyone who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he seems to have will be taken away.”

Luke 8:16-18 presents a profound teaching of Jesus regarding the nature of revelation and the responsibilities that come with knowledge.

In this passage, Jesus uses the metaphor of a lamp to illustrate the role of His teachings and the truth of the Gospel. Just as a lamp is meant to illuminate the darkness, the message of Christ is intended to reveal truth and guide people toward spiritual enlightenment. The imagery emphasizes the importance of visibility and openness; hiding a lamp contradicts its very purpose.

The second verse underscores the inevitability of truth being revealed. Jesus warns that hidden things will eventually come to light, suggesting a divine justice where all truths, both good and bad, will be disclosed. This serves as a reminder of the moral responsibility individuals have to be vigilant in their spiritual lives.

The final verse shifts focus to the listener's role in this dynamic. Jesus urges people to pay careful attention to how they listen to His words. The idea that those who have understanding will receive more, while those who lack it will lose even what they think they possess, highlights the importance of active engagement with spiritual teachings. It challenges the listener to cultivate a receptive heart and mind, encouraging growth in understanding and faith. Together, these verses offer a compelling call to acknowledge the light of Christ and to be diligent in seeking and sharing that light with others. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

09-24-2024 Luke 8 V-1618

**Light Must Be Seen Secret is Nothing**

A lamp is lit, its glow so bright,

Not hidden away, but shared in the night.

On a stand it shines, for all to see,

Illuminating hearts, setting spirits free.

In shadows deep, where secrets lie,

Truth will emerge; no need to deny.

What’s hidden in darkness shall be revealed,

In the light of His love, all wounds are healed.

Listen closely, pay heed to the call,

For the ears that are open, the truth will enthrall.

To those who embrace what the Spirit imparts,

More shall be given, the light fills their hearts.

But beware of the pride that clouds the way,

For even what’s held can be swept away.

In the depths of our souls, let humility grow,

As we seek the light, let our understanding flow.

So let us be lamps in a world so dim,

Reflecting His grace, singing praises to Him.

With hearts wide open and spirits set free,

We’ll shine like the stars, for the world to see. Amen.
