The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 7 Verse One thru Seven

1 “Stop judging, that you may not be judged. 2 For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you. 3 Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but do not perceive the wooden beam in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove that splinter from your eye,’ while the wooden beam is in your eye? 5 You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.

Matthew 7:1-7 reminds us of a fundamental principle: “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” This teaching emphasizes the importance of humility and compassion in our interactions with others. It encourages us to look beyond superficial appearances and personal biases. We often find ourselves evaluating people based on their outward appearances, their job status, or even their religious affiliations. However, we must recognize that these factors do not define a person’s worth or their relationship with God.

Judging someone based solely on their occupation, socioeconomic status, or beliefs can create unnecessary divisions and foster an unwelcoming environment. Instead, we are called to embrace everyone, regardless of their background. Jesus demonstrated love to all, extending His grace to the marginalized, the outcasts, and those considered sinners by societal standards. Our mission as His followers is to do the same.

In verse 3, Jesus challenges us to examine the "plank" in our own eye before pointing out the "speck" in someone else’s. This parable serves as a powerful reminder of our own imperfections. We are all flawed and in need of God’s grace. Recognizing our shortcomings fosters a spirit of empathy and understanding, allowing us to extend kindness rather than judgment.

Furthermore, the call to “ask, seek, and knock” in verses 7-8 underscores the importance of seeking God’s wisdom and guidance. In doing so, we learn to love others as Christ loves us, fostering unity and acceptance in a world that often promotes division. Let us strive to embody this message in our daily lives. In the name of Jesus, may we embrace all, creating a welcoming community that reflects His love. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. Novena Day Four for James employment. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

06-22-2026 Matthew 7 v0107

**As You Judge So Will You Be Judged**

Judge not, lest you should find your own heart bare,

For in the mirror, truth will meet you there.

With the same measure, the world will weigh,

In kindness, let your words and actions sway.

Why gaze at the speck in a brother's eye,

When a beam in your own looms large and high?

First, seek the light to clear your sight,

With love and mercy, make the darkness bright.

Ask, and it shall be given, the promise stands,

Seek with fervor, and you’ll find what demands.

Knock on the door of grace, and it will sway,

Open wide to those who humbly pray.

In these golden rules, a truth profound:

Compassion and understanding, forever abound.

For every heart that seeks, shall surely find,

In the measure of grace, our souls are aligned. Amen.
