The Gospel of Matthew Chapter 19 Verses 13 thru 15

13 Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked them, 14 but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” 15 After he placed his hands on them, he went away.

Matthew 19:13-15 captures a profound moment in the life of Jesus, illustrating His deep affection for children and the essential qualities that make them exemplary in the eyes of God. In this passage, parents bring their little ones to Jesus for blessings, but the disciples attempt to rebuke them. However, Jesus responds with gentle authority, saying, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the Kingdom of Heaven." He then lays His hands on them and blesses them, conveying His love and acceptance.

This scripture highlights the importance of adopting a childlike spirit to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Being childlike does not mean being childish, but rather embodying qualities such as humility, trust, and a sense of wonder. Children naturally rely on their caregivers, demonstrating an essential faith in something greater than themselves. This kind of dependence is what Jesus calls for in our relationship with Him—recognizing our need for His grace and guidance.

Moreover, children are open-hearted and unprejudiced, welcoming others without the barriers that often exist in adult relationships. They approach life with curiosity and joy, qualities that reflect the heart of God. By encouraging us to be like children, Jesus invites us to shed our pride and self-sufficiency, embracing the simplicity of faith.

In a world rife with complexities and challenges, the call to remain childlike is a reminder to maintain an unshakeable trust in God’s goodness, to approach Him without reluctance, and to experience the Kingdom with awe and gratitude. As we strive to embody these qualities, we align ourselves closer to God’s heart, ensuring our place in the Kingdom. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

08-16-2025 Matthew 19 v1315

**The Kingdom of Heaven Belongs to Such as These**

In sunlit days, the children came,

With laughter bright, each heart aflame,

They sought the touch of love divine,

To feel the grace of Christ's design.

The disciples stood, their faces stern,

"Let not these little ones discern,"

But Jesus spoke with gentle trust,

"Let them come near, for this is just."

"For theirs is the Kingdom, pure and free,

With hearts so bold, and eyes to see,

In innocence, they know the way,

To live in love, to dance and play."

So shed your pride, come, take His hand,

In childlike faith together stand,

For in His arms, we find our rest,

Embrace the grace, to be our best. Amen.
