The Gospel of Luke Chapter 9 Verse 43 thru 45

43 And all were astonished by the majesty of God. While they were all amazed at his every deed, he said to his disciples, 44 “Pay attention to what I am telling you. The Son of Man is to be handed over to men.” 45 But they did not understand this saying; its meaning was hidden from them so that they should not understand it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.

In Luke 9:43-45, we encounter a profound moment where Jesus reveals the depth of His mission and the gravity of His impending sacrifice. The passage states, “And they were all amazed at the Majesty of God.” But while they were all marveling at everything he was doing, Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Let these words sink into your ears: The Son of Man is about to be delivered into the hands of men.’ But they did not understand this saying, and it was concealed from them, so they could not perceive it.” Here, we witness the tension between divine majesty and human understanding.

When we choose to place God first in our lives, our perspective shifts, allowing us to see His majesty in the everyday moments. The disciples were present for miraculous works, yet they struggled to grasp the full significance of Jesus’s words. Similarly, in our lives, we may be surrounded by awe-inspiring acts of God—His creation, the love of family, the joy of community—yet fail to fully appreciate their meaning unless we invite God into our priorities.

By acknowledging God’s greatness, we open our eyes to His handiwork in all aspects of life. We begin to recognize His majesty in the smallest details: the vibrant colors of nature, the kindness of a stranger, or even the comfort found in a quiet moment of prayer. As we prioritize God, our hearts and minds become attuned to His presence, leading us to experience wonder in the ordinary.

Let us remind ourselves that God’s majesty is all around us, waiting to be recognized. When we center our lives on Him God First, we not only see His greatness but also find deeper purpose and connection in everything we do. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

09-27-2025 Luke 9 v4345

**Astonished by the Majesty of God**

In awe of His Majesty, they gathered, hearts aglow,

The miracles woven where grace would flow,

Yet hidden in whispers, a truth profound,

The Son of Man destined, by love, to be bound.

“Let these words sink deep,” He tenderly spoke,

A fate intertwining through silence they broke,

For in their amazement, the weight seemed unclear,

The Majesty of God, wrapped in sorrow and fear.

Yet through every trial, His purpose would shine,

In shadows and struggles, His glory divine,

For when we place God in the depths of our heart,

We see His majesty in each precious part. Amen.
