10-20-2024 Psalm 8 v0409 Mindful are You Lord of Man

The Book of Psalms Chapter Eight V- Four thru Nine

4 When I see your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and stars that you set in place— 5 What is man that you are mindful of him, and a son of man that you care for him? 6 Yet you have made him little less than a god, crowned him with glory and honor. 7 You have given him rule over the works of your hands, put all things at his feet: 8 All sheep and oxen, even the beasts of the field, 9 The birds of the air, the fish of the sea, and whatever swims the paths of the seas.

Psalm 8, particularly verses 4-9, reflects on the profound relationship between humanity and the divine, highlighting both the majesty of God and the significance of human beings within creation. In verse 4, the psalmist poses a rhetorical question: "What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?" This inquiry captures a deep sense of awe and humility, recognizing the vastness of the universe and the greatness of God, juxtaposed with the seemingly insignificant status of humanity.

Verses 5-6 further elaborate on this paradox, stating that humans are made "a little lower than the angels" and are crowned with glory and honor. This imagery underscores the dignity bestowed upon people, suggesting that despite their smallness in the grand scheme of creation, they are honored by God. The text emphasizes that humanity holds a unique place in the divine order, entrusted with stewardship over the earth and its creatures.

Verses 7-8 expand on this theme of stewardship, listing the various elements of creation that humans are given dominion over, from livestock to the birds in the sky. This responsibility is a sacred task, reinforcing the idea that human beings are not merely passive observers of creation but active participants in God’s design.

Finally, verse 9 concludes the psalm with a declaration of praise: "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!" This encapsulates the overarching theme of the psalm—while humanity is small and seemingly insignificant, the glory of God is immense, and it is through this relationship that human existence gains meaning. In essence, Psalm 8:4-9 beautifully balances the majesty of God with the honor and responsibility given to humanity, inviting reflection on our role within the created order. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

10-20-2024 Psalm 8 V-0409

**In Awe of Creation**

What is man, that You should care,

In this vast world, so grand and rare?

The stars that twinkle in the night,

Yet You, O Lord, grant us Your light.

A little lower than the divine,

Crowned with glory, a love so fine.

With honor bestowed, we stand in grace,

Reflecting Your image, a sacred space.

You’ve placed us here, with hearts to steer,

Over the earth, we hold so dear.

The birds that soar, the creatures that roam,

In Your creation, we find our home.

With gentle hands, we tend and guide,

The beauty of nature, our hearts collide.

Yet all we do, in humble praise,

To honor Your name, our voices raise.

O Lord, our Lord, how majestic and true,

In all of the earth, we worship You.

From mountain peaks to the ocean's wave,

In every heartbeat, Your love we crave. Amen.
