The Letter to the Hebrews Chapter 12 V- One and Four

1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us 2 while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith. For the sake of the joy that lay before him he endured the cross, despising its shame, and has taken his seat at the right of the throne of God. 3 Consider how he endured such opposition from sinners, in order that you may not grow weary and lose heart. 4 In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding blood.

Hebrews 12:1-4 encourages us to run the race of faith with perseverance, shedding the weight of sin that can hinder us. The passage opens with a powerful reminder of the great cloud of witnesses—those faithful believers who have gone before us, testifying to the power of unwavering faith. As we reflect on their examples, we are called to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.

In surrendering His life on the Cross, our Lord demonstrated an unparalleled act of love and sacrifice. He allowed Himself to be nailed to that Cross for the sins of all mankind, including you and me. This profound surrender is not merely a historical event; it is a model for our own lives. Just as Jesus endured the shame and suffering for the joy set before Him, we too are called to lay aside our burdens and focus on the eternal promise of life with Him.

To live out this calling requires us to prioritize our relationship with God above all else. In every action, decision, and moment, we must seek to honor Him first. This means surrendering our ambitions, desires, and fears at His feet, allowing His will to guide us. When we embrace this posture of surrender, we begin to reflect the heart of Christ, who exemplified total obedience to the Father.

Let us be inspired by Christ’s example and the witnesses around us. As we run our race, may we do so with the assurance that our Savior has already paved the way, demonstrating how to live fully for God. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. The Soul of my sister-in-law Carmen. Death Uncle Donald. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

02-04-2025 Hebrews 12 v0104

**He Endured the Cross**

In shadows cast by those who’ve run,

A cloud of witnesses in the sun,

We shed the weight, the sin we bear,

With eyes on Christ, our hearts in prayer.

He bore our shame upon the tree,

For every soul, including me,

With love so deep, He paid the price,

A perfect gift, our sacrifice.

So let us run with steadfast grace,

In faith, we find our rightful place,

For joy awaits beyond the strife,

In Him, we live, in Him, our life. Amen.
