The Letter to the Hebrews Chapter 10 V- 24 and 31

24 We must consider how to rouse one another to love and good works. 25 We should not stay away from our assembly, as is the custom of some, but encourage one another, and this all the more as you see the day drawing near. 26 If we sin deliberately after receiving knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains sacrifice for sin 27 but a fearful prospect of judgment and a flaming fire that is going to consume the adversaries. 28 Anyone who rejects the law of Moses is put to death without pity on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Do you not think that a much worse punishment is due the one who has contempt for the Son of God, considers unclean the covenant-blood by which he was consecrated, and insults the spirit of grace? 30 We know the one who said: “Vengeance is mine; I will repay,” and again: “The Lord will judge his people.”31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Hebrews 10:24-31 offers a profound reflection on the importance of community and accountability within the faith. The passage exhorts believers to consider how they may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, emphasizing the need for mutual encouragement, especially as the Day of the Lord approaches. This call to action is vital in a world that often promotes individualism over unity.

However, the verses also serve as a sobering reminder of the consequences of turning away from God. The author warns against the danger of willfully sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth. For those who hold God in contempt—who neglect His grace and trample on the sacrifice of Christ—there is a stark warning: “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” This statement encapsulates the weight of divine judgment and the seriousness of our decisions regarding our faith.

God is a loving Father, but He is also a just Judge. The passage underscores that rejecting His call and grace has dire consequences. As believers, we must be vigilant in our faith and intentional about supporting one another in our spiritual journeys. The urgency in these verses encourages us to reflect on our relationship with God and the seriousness of our commitments.

Let us not take our faith lightly. Instead, let us be reminded that God will call us out of life, and we should strive to live in a way that honors Him. May we encourage one another, remain steadfast, and remember that while His grace is abundant, His justice is real. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

01-29-2025 Hebrews 10 v2431

**Fearful Thing to Fall into the Hands of the Living God**

In fellowship we gather, hearts entwined,

To stir each other toward love's embrace,

In acts of kindness, let our spirits bind,

As we await the coming of His grace.

Yet heed the call, for dangers lie in wait,

To turn from truth, to tread on sacred ground,

For those with contempt, there comes a weight,

A fearful fall where mercy can't be found.

The blood of Christ, a covenant that saves,

Yet willful hearts that turn away must know,

The justice of the One who freely gave,

A warning clear: the living God will show.

So let us strive, in love to persevere,

Encouraging each other day by day,

For in His hands, there’s hope, yet also fear,

Let faith unite us, guiding on our way. Amen.
