The Book of Acts 8 v- 38 thru 40

38 Then he ordered the chariot to stop, and Philip and the eunuch both went down into the water, and he baptized him. 39 When they came out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away, and the eunuch saw him no more, but continued on his way rejoicing. 40 Philip came to Azotus, and went about proclaiming the good news to all the towns until he reached Caesarea.

Acts 8:38-40 tells the story of Philip and the Ethiopian eunuch, a powerful narrative about God's providence and the transformative power of the Gospel. In these verses, Philip baptizes the eunuch after explaining the Scriptures to him, and then, in an astonishing act, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly takes Philip away, leaving the eunuch rejoicing on his newfound faith journey.

Reflecting on this passage, one can draw a parallel to the dynamics within a family, especially when there's division and estrangement. Just as God orchestrated the meeting between Philip and the eunuch, He can send a "Philip" into our family's lives—someone who can bring a message of forgiveness and healing. Families, much like the Ethiopian eunuch, often find themselves in need of an external voice to guide them towards understanding and reconciliation.

Forgiveness is a cornerstone of Christian teaching and a necessary step towards mending broken relationships. It requires humility, understanding, and a willingness to move past hurt and resentment. A "Philip" in the family could be a spiritual mentor, a mediator, or even a trusted relative who embodies these qualities and can facilitate open, honest dialogue.

By embracing the role of a Philip, this person can help family members see the importance of forgiveness, just as Philip helped the eunuch understand the scriptures. They can guide the family towards a collective healing, emphasizing the need to let go of past grievances and to embrace a future of unity and love. Just as the eunuch went on his way rejoicing after his encounter with Philip, families too can find joy and renewal in reconciliation.

In essence, Acts 8:38-40 offers a powerful template for familial healing. It reminds us that God can and does send messengers into our lives to guide us towards forgiveness and unity, and encourages us to be open to these divine interventions, paving the way for restored relationships and familial harmony. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

Ephesians 6:17-20

07-21-2024 Acts 8 V-3840

**Send Phillip to share Redemption to live Goodwill**

In desert's midst, where waters gleamed,

An act of faith, a soul redeemed.

The chariot halted, hearts aligned,

The sacred rite of love divine.

Down to the water, both did tread,

Philip and the seeking thread.

With hands uplifted, words did pour,

A cleansing grace forevermore.

The Ethiopian, spirit bright,

Rose from the depths, clothed in light.

Rejoicing, he did rise anew,

In faith, his path was clear and true.

But as the waters stilled and calmed,

A marvel by the Spirit's palm,

Philip was whisked to lands afar,

Guided by a heavenly star.

Azotus found him, voice proclaimed,

The gospel's truth, the Savior named.

From town to town, the message spread,

The living Word, the spiritual bread.

In desert's midst, where waters gleamed,

An act of faith, a soul redeemed.

The journey taken, paths entwined,

In sacred love, the divine enshrined. Amen.
