The Gospel of Luke Chapter 17 V- 12 and 19

12 As he was entering a village, ten lepers met [him]. They stood at a distance from him 13 and raised their voice, saying, “Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” 14 And when he saw them, he said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” As they were going they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; 16 and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. He was a Samaritan. 17 Jesus said in reply, “Ten were cleansed, were they not? Where are the other nine? 18 Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?” 19 Then he said to him, “Stand up and go; your faith has saved you.”

In Luke 17:12-19, we encounter a powerful narrative about ten lepers who, desperate for healing, call out to Jesus as He enters a village. These outcasts, burdened by their disease and isolation, demonstrate the profound human longing for restoration. Jesus instructs them to show themselves to the priests, a requirement of the Law for those who believed they had been healed. As they obey His command, they are miraculously cleansed.
However, amidst this miraculous healing, only one leper—a Samaritan—returns to thank Jesus. His gratitude reflects a deeper understanding of the miracle he received. Jesus, noticing this man’s return, emphasizes the significance of faith by declaring, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” This passage highlights the transformative power of faith. While all ten lepers were healed physically, only the one who returned experienced a spiritual restoration.
This story serves as a poignant reminder that our faith can lead to healing, not only of our physical ailments but also of our spiritual and emotional wounds. Just as the Samaritan leper recognized the source of his healing and responded in gratitude, we too are called to acknowledge the gifts we receive from God.
When we believe in Jesus and place our trust in Him, we open ourselves to His grace and mercy. Our faith can indeed save us, heal us, and transform our lives. So, let us not only seek His help but also return to Him in gratitude, recognizing that it is our faith that allows us to experience the fullness of His love and healing. Remember, dear reader, believe wholeheartedly, for your faith can save you. Amen.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Ephesians 6:17-20

02-03-2025 Luke 17 v1219

**Your Faith Has Saved You**

In a village where shadows loom,
Ten lepers cried, seeking light from gloom.
“Jesus, Master, have mercy,” they plead,
In their hearts, a flicker, a desperate need.
He spoke words of healing, a command so clear,
“Go show yourselves,” He said, “have no fear.”
As they journeyed, a miracle unfurled,
In their faith’s embrace, a new life swirled.
But one turned back, his heart full of grace,
A Samaritan leper, seeking Jesus’ face.
With a heart overflowing, he praised the Divine,
For in gratitude’s glow, true healing did shine.
“Rise and go forth,” the Savior did say,
“Your faith has made you well—walk in the way.”
In each whispered prayer, in each act of love,
Our faith leads us home to the mercy above. Amen.
