The Book of Sirach Ch Seven v- One and Two

1 Do no evil, and evil will not overtake you; 2 avoid wickedness, and it will turn away from you.

Evil is as evil does. What is evil? Can you name a few? Are they hard to discuss? You bet they are even when you are shrewd? So many smart people are evil too? What about you? When you were a sinner through-and-through? Aren’t you still a sinner? Isn’t sin evil? Or is that a fallacy too? Look around. Evil is running rampart everywhere. It grows stronger by saying yes to sin. I’ve heard it called a fundamental right to live in a fantasy world. You have the right to be evil, apparently? Right? Evil is a concept that refers to morally reprehensible actions, behaviors, or intentions that cause harm, suffering, or destruction. Murder. Theft. Fraud. Abuse. Bullying. Manipulation. Betrayal. Discrimination. Revenge. Torture. Exploitation. Terrorism. Genocide. Human trafficking. And the 21st Century Cybercrime. Just to name a few. Evil is often associated with malicious intent, cruelty, wrongdoing, and a disregard for the well-being and rights of others. Why does the definition of evil vary depending on cultural, religious, and philosophical perspectives? Some may argue that evil is an inherent and absolute quality, while others may view it as a result of individual choices or societal influences. Why does the understanding of evil become subjective? Can evil be shaped by personal beliefs and values? What is wrong is wrong, right? But wait, evil is as evil does means evil by me might be different than the evil by you and you and I have a right to conduct evil when it falls under the laws of man and not the Laws of the One and Only True God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The world will allow you to label something evil as right when it is obviously wrong. A traditional Japanese haiku is a three-line poem with seventeen syllables, written in a 5/7/5 syllable count. Here’s a Haiku about evil taking hold by sin’s whispers. I pray we all overcome evil by our actions of grace and goodwill seeking the lost, the lonely and the languished to forgive as peace. Can you hear the syllable count as evil is described below? Amen.

Evil’s Haiku

Sin’s tempting whispers,

Evil roots begin to grow,

Darkness claims its hold.

Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.

At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.

I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for a little boy named David Alexander. Praise God thank You Jesus. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.
