The Book of Matthew 10 v- 24 thru 28
24 No disciple is above his teacher, no slave above his master. 25 It is enough for the disciple that he become like his teacher, for the slave that he become like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household! 26 “Therefore do not be afraid of them. Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known. 27 What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.28 And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
Today in Matthew 10:24-28, Jesus addresses his disciples, imparting crucial wisdom and guidance as they embark on their mission to spread the Gospel. He underscores the relationship between a teacher and his students, emphasizing that a student is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master. Jesus sets the tone for humility and servanthood, reminding his disciples that they are called to follow in his footsteps with dedication and obedience.
The passage warns of the challenges and persecutions that await those who choose to walk the path of discipleship. Jesus acknowledges that his followers will face opposition and hostility, just as he did during his earthly ministry. Despite the threats and dangers that may arise, Jesus encourages his disciples not to fear those who can harm the body but cannot touch the soul. He reassures them that their true worth and identity lie in their relationship with God, who holds ultimate authority over life and death.
Jesus urges his disciples to boldly proclaim the message of the Gospel, to speak openly and fearlessly about the truth they have received from him. He emphasizes the importance of shining light in the darkness, of revealing the hidden teachings and principles of God's kingdom. By exhorting his followers to speak openly and without fear, Jesus empowers them to embrace their identity as messengers of hope and bearers of divine truth.
In essence, Matthew 10:24-28 serves as a rallying cry for disciples of Jesus – a call to humility, courage, and unwavering faith in the face of adversity. It reminds believers that their allegiance lies with the Master, their teacher, and encourages them to walk in his footsteps with boldness and conviction, trusting in the sovereignty and protection of God. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and for ever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**A Call to Discipleship and Courage**
A student walks where the teacher leads,
In steps of faith, where the heart proceeds.
No servant rises above the one,
Whose path he follows, beneath the sun.
If they called the Master dark names in jest,
What shall become of the humble guest?
Fear not the whispers, nor shadows cast,
For truth will shine, outlasting the past.
What’s veiled in night, shall dawn in light,
Proclaim the truth from the highest height.
Speak in the daylight what’s shared in dark,
For courage ignites the smallest spark.
Fear not the flesh, which fades away,
But revere the One who holds sway.
Both body and soul in His command,
In His firm grasp, securely stand.
The sparrows fall, yet none unseen,
By Him who weaves all lives between.
So fear not, child, with faith abide,
For in His love, you safely hide. Amen.
