The Letter to the Colossians Chapter 1 Verses 9 thru 14
9 Therefore, from the day we heard this, we do not cease praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding 10 to live in a manner worthy of the Lord, so as to be fully pleasing, in every good work bearing fruit and growing in the knowledge of God, 11 strengthened with every power, in accord with his glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to share in the inheritance of the holy ones in light. 13 He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
In Colossians 1:9-14, the Apostle Paul offers a profound prayer for the believers in Colossae, emphasizing the importance of spiritual growth and understanding. He begins by praying that they may be filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. This knowledge is not merely academic but transformative, leading to a deeper relationship with Christ.
Paul’s words remind us that to be fully pleasing to the Lord, we must actively engage in growing in the knowledge of His Son, Jesus Christ. This growth is essential for bearing good fruit in our lives. As we deepen our understanding of Christ and His teachings, we empower ourselves to live out our faith in tangible ways. Spiritual growth leads to practical expressions of love, joy, and kindness, enabling us to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord.
Furthermore, Paul emphasizes that this walk is not just for our benefit but is ultimately about glorifying God. When we align our actions with His will, we become a reflection of His light in a world that desperately needs hope and truth. As we grow in knowledge, we are equipped to endure challenges, experience genuine strength, and exhibit patience in every circumstance.
In verses 12-14, Paul reminds us of the incredible gift of salvation through Christ, who has delivered us from darkness and transferred us into His Kingdom. This transformation calls for an active response; we must seek to know Him more intimately. As we immerse ourselves in His Word and deepen our relationship with Him, we will bear fruit that glorifies God and demonstrates our commitment to living a life fully pleasing to Him. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**He Delivered Us From the Power of Darkness**
In prayer, we seek a depth profound,
That wisdom’s light may brightly sound,
With love and knowledge intertwined,
In Christ, our hearts and minds aligned.
To walk in truth, to bear good fruit,
In every deed, His grace to root,
With patience filled, we rise and grow,
In strength and joy, His love we know.
He calls us from the shadows’ night,
To dwell in hope, in pure delight,
Redeemed by Him, we stand as one,
In His great kingdom, we’re begun.
The Spirit’s power will guide our way,
In every choice we make each day,
To live for Him, to shine His light,
In every struggle, in darkest night.
Let hearts awaken, let faith abound,
For in His love, true peace is found,
In knowledge deep, we’re set apart,
To please our Lord with all our heart. Amen.
