Galatians 4 V- 4 through 7
4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to ransom those under the law, so that we might receive adoption. 6 As proof that you are children, God sent the spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” 7 So you are no longer a slave but a child, and if a child then also an heir, through God.
The Solemnity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God, is celebrated on January 1st each year, marking a significant occasion in the liturgical calendar of our Catholic Church. This feast honors Mary’s central role in the divine plan of salvation as the Mother of Jesus Christ, who is recognized as both fully divine and fully human. The celebration on New Year’s Day serves as a powerful reminder of new beginnings, reflecting the hope and renewal that the start of a new year brings to the faithful.
Galatians 4:4-7 encapsulates the essence of this solemnity: “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, in order to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as children.” This passage emphasizes the pivotal moment of God’s intervention in human history through the Incarnation, highlighting Mary's unique and vital role as the vessel through which Jesus entered the world. By being born of Mary, Jesus fulfills the covenant and brings about a new era of divine grace.
The timing of this feast aligns beautifully with the New Year, as it invites the faithful to reflect on the blessings of motherhood, the significance of family, and the importance of welcoming Christ into our lives anew. It encourages a sense of gratitude and hope, urging believers to embrace their identity as children of God. Celebrating Mary on this day not only honors her but also inspires the Church to commit to living out the values of love and compassion that she exemplified, setting a spiritual tone for the year ahead. In doing so, the Church begins the new year with a profound acknowledgment of God’s love and the importance of Mary in the story of salvation. Amen.
Join me as we pray our daily prayer of forgiveness. The Lord’s Prayer.
At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.
I am sorry Lord. I believe You died and rose for me. Please forgive me as I forgive others. I share You as my Lord and Savior seeking to live your Will in all things. Prayers for wife Toni and my mother Betty pray for our children especially our two oldest Alexandra & Allen Son in Law Mark Stern; Julian, Gabriel and Jeffrey and our grandchildren Oliver, Julian and Elliott. We pray for those we’ve said we’d pray for and those who’ve asked us to pray for them. We pray for the dying as we do each day Lord give them peace in their last breath. We pray for Holy Mother Church. Our prayers for our niece Brittany. In Jesus Precious Blood by His Name we pray. Amen.

**Born of a Woman a Child of God**
In the fullness of time, a promise fulfilled,
God sent His Son, a love distilled.
Born of a woman, humble and small,
To redeem a world, to answer the call.
Under the law, He took on our pain,
A bridge to the Father, our hope to regain.
In the quiet of night, a star shone so bright,
A Savior was given, our guiding light.
Adoption bestowed, a gift from above,
We’re called to be children, wrapped in His love.
No longer in fear, no longer alone,
In Christ, we find peace, in Him we’ve grown.
With hearts open wide, we rise and we sing,
Of joy and of mercy, the promise He brings.
For we are His heirs, a family divine,
In the fullness of time, His grace intertwines.
So let us remember, as each year unfolds,
The story of love that forever holds.
For in the embrace of the Mother, we see,
The heart of our faith, the promise that’s free. Amen.
